I saw this radio on an ad on FACEBOOK and liked the idea of a small radio to fit in my pocket, and the fact i could program it via my phone via bluetooth or chirp with a USB cable.i`ve had it a day now and a had no problems programming it, the app even told me local repeaters. i can access my local repeater with ease, it even came with a AIRBAND whip antenna and a drop in charging dock. build quality is great too.

Well I purchased this product expecting it to be relatively easy to set up !! How wrong was i, the instruction manual is useless, it give no proper information and set up and what the abbreviations mean and to top it off there’s sone picture illustrations which are totally illegible. The blue tooth programming function via the ODmaster app just doesn’t make any sense at all, in short small handheld unit but go and get a PhD to learn how to program and set it up. Also ive since learned that some purchases come with additional items in the box where this didn’t, in the way of Bluetooth ear pieces or a seperate Bluetooth PTT speaker, the stock antenna is a not very good, I’m sure there is better out there for the advertised price, thanksThink long and hard or spend a bit more and go for a higher priced model but not necessarily Tidradio

Versatile radio with USB-C charging option, Bluetooth programming with Odmaster app, manual programming from the keypad or cable programming (USB-C) with either the Tidradio software or Chirp. Smaller than it looks in the listing but has a good feel in the hand. As a Chinese radio, it’s above par and, I would say, a step up from cheaper Baofeng radios but just as easy to operate and program. Sound from the internal speaker is adequate (but not fantastic) and at the price point it’s acceptable.

A newby to HAM, and as not having a licence cannot transmit. I have updated the firmware to 1.35. ( use usb C, press PTT and 3, then turn on. After download, RESET the radio to factory settings ) Overall impression is good. design and construction. The buttons are a bit small, but then how would you keep the radio small. Not being licensed stops a lot of testing.

Says Bluetooth but it’s only one directional. You change a setting on the radio to either transmit or receive by Bluetooth. Means you can’t use a Bluetooth headset properly, only one function, mic OR speaker – shame!
