This startech USB hub is very compact, having a reasonably small footprint on your desk, but offering 5 USB type A and 2 USB type c ports.It connects to the computer via USB C, and does (as the name would suggest) require an additional power socket to power it. It has been reliably powering and connecting my external CD/BluRay burner and audio DAC and IDE/SATA dock for several years with no issues at all. A godsend if your motherboard lacks many USB ports, or if you just want to free up some on your computer and have them more conveniently placed for you to access.

Tres bon hub de bureau… son seul défaut est son adaptateur secteur un peux volumineux…disons pour les voyages … sinon il est parfait, soutien bien électriquement tous mes appareils gourmands sans broncher, ce qui n’est pas le cas des autres hub que j’ai eu avant.

Expensive, but you get what you pay for with this hub.
There’s a lot I like about this hub and exactly one thing I don’t. The ports are plentiful and of the right mix (the two USB-C ones are essential). The throughput is plentiful and the reliability is top notch (I have never had a connectivity problem where this hub was the culprit.) The status lights for the ports are bright enough to be seen, but not overly bright to the point of becoming a distraction (take note, other manufacturers.) I love that this unit has a power switch, because I can throw it at night and shut off all my blinking light computer accessories when I want to sleep. My only complaint is that the USB and power inputs as well as the power button are on opposite side as the inputs. This arrangement meant I had to get a specific right angle USB3 cable to connect the hub to my computer without the wires getting in the way. I’d love a version where all of the ports (including the power) are on the back and just the power switch is on the front. Solid 9.5/10 unit, however.

Binnen een half jaar is de voeding overleden, product nu niet te gebruiken. Waardeloos.
Mooi werkende hub, zolang de voeding het doet. Bij mij is de voeding na ongeveer een half jaar kapot gegaan. Gods onmogelijk bij amazon een garantie claim in te dienen. 😩
