Wired exactly as per instructions (which I had to dig out from GitHub via their website). Ran the script, nothing happens. Tried over USB and still nothing. Don’t waste your money.

Poor range, minimal documentation, doesn’t support HID 1346 tags
So the good part is that it works. All you need to provide is 5V power, ground and connect DATA to a serial RX pin and read 12 characters at a time at 9600 baud. The documentation doesn’t mention what to do with the other pins (i.e. BEEP). The reading range is bad, with the card and FOB they provide, you pretty much almost have to touch the board (i.e. quarter inch to just maybe half inch). For me the worst part is that it won’t recognize HID 1346 tags which also run at 125 khz. They should list specifically what kind of cards it can (or cannot) read in specs. I wanted to build a door lock for apartment that could respond to the same fobs I use for building entrance. Alas, not with this module. For comparison, I have a cheaper board that can do MIFARE cards that is much faster and has a much better range, of course, that one doesn’t do 125 khz, but its specs were clear on what it can or cannot do.
