The best floodlight cameras you can buyThe Ring Floodlight Cams are genuinely the GOAT — the greatest of all time when it comes to home security. We’ve got one on the back of the house overlooking the garden, and another on the garage covering the drive. The lights are really bright, the motion detection is spot on, and the app makes it easy to set up and use.These are the wired-in versions, so I had an electrician friend fit them. From what I saw, the wiring looked a bit fiddly, so if you’re not confident with electrics I’d suggest going for the battery or solar versions instead. Once installed, they’ve been flawless — never gone down once, no issues with power, and they don’t draw much at all spurred off a garage socket.The camera quality is fantastic, the live view works brilliantly, and the microphone is surprisingly good. Ours picks up perfectly at the garage door and even down to where the postman drops parcels. Handy for telling the odd cat to clear off too.They also look smart and feel premium. Even little touches like the orange screwdriver that comes in the box are great — I use it all the time. We bought ours on sale, which made them even better value, but honestly they’re worth full price.For security, peace of mind, and ease of use, these are a must. Five stars, highly recommend

Zur Überwachung unseres Gartens/Hofeinfahrt musste eine Kamera aus demselben System wie unsere Türklingel angeschafft werden und die Prime-Days kamen.Wir hatten die Wahl, ob wir die Ring Kamera mit Solar oder eine fest Verkabelte Kamera anschaffen, um das doch eher lästige austauschen des Akkus wie an der Türklingel zu vermeiden. Wir entschieden uns aufgrund des integrierten Flutlichtes für diese, und sind sehr zufrieden.Installation:Die Installation ging deutlich leichter als erwartet, auch wenn die Kabeleinführung sich etwas schwierig gestaltet hat. Die in der Grundplatte integrierte Wasserwage hat es deutlich einfacher gemacht die Richtige Position zu finden. Ohne diese wäre es am gewählten Standort deutlich schwieriger gewesen die Grundplatte auszurichten. Die Installation auf unebenen Untergrund (Strukturputz auf Außenfassade) gestaltete sich aufgrund der knapp bemessenen Gewindestifte zur Aufnahme der eigentlichen Kamera auf der Grundplatte deutlich schwieriger, das Aufsetzten der Muttern war ein deutlicher Kraftakt.Einrichtung:Die Einrichtung der Kamera ist wie von Ring gewohnt sehr einfach und durch die App gut geführt. Einzig der WLAN-Antenne der Kamera könnte besser sein. Durch die fehlende 5GHz Unterstützung mussten wir zum Betrieb der Kamera noch einen Repeater verbauen, um überhaupt unser WLAN bei der Einrichtung auszuwählen (Handys am selben Standpunkt hatten normalerweise vollen Empfang.) Die Möglichkeit die Empfindlichkeit UND den Erkennungsbereich Präzise einzustellen und in Zonen zu Unterteilen ist gerade mit leichtem Blick auf die Straße Gold wert. Auch die Unterscheidung zwischen Bewegung und Menschen macht es möglich, dass wir mit dem Flutlicht keine Straßenlaterne imitieren.Bildqualität und Funktionen:Wie von den eher Hochpreisigen Produkten von Ring zu erwarten ist die Bildqualität hervorragend und gerade im Vergleich zur Türklingel ist im Bereich der Nachtsicht ist das Bild deutlich besser. Das Flutlicht mit 2 x 2000lm erfüllt vollends seinen Zweck und ist durch die verstellbaren Köpfe perfekt dazu geeignet den überwachten Bereich auszuleuchten. Die Sirene ist deutlich hörbar. Sollte diese aktiviert sein und los gehen ist sowohl die Person, die auf dem Grundstück ist, weg, als auch alle Nachbarn wach.Fazit:Ringtypische Gute Qualität und in Kombination mit dem Flutlicht eine gute Wahl für die Überwachung von nicht beleuchteten Grundstücken. Die Kabelgebundene Version erfordert zwar deutlich mehr Knowhow und Werkzeug während der Installation, der Aufwand ist es dennoch Wert. Der Preis von (zu den Prime-Days) mit 139.99€ ist durchaus angemessen.

Great camera/lights. I have bought 2 of these now. Links to my other ring devices and stored on the ring cloud via a subscription. I only required the lights for the garden for the 2nd device but with the discounts it made sense to a get another camera version. Easy to fit if you already have outside lights so the wiring is in place other wise you may need an electrician to sort that bit. The first one had an issue after 12 months where the lights never completely turned off . Contacted thinkassemble.co.uk and they had a replacement sent in a few days

Installed by electrician for me so can’t comment on installation. However, Very impressive clear images with wide angle views once installed. Even night time images are clear. The associated lights are motion sensitive which is a bonus if you don’t want them on constantly- though that option is available via the app which is easy to download. A marvellous, cheaper option to CVTV. Recommended.

These are the bees knees. We bought 3 to put around our house and got an electrician to install them during a rewire. They light up the area extremely well and the video quality is great. Motion can be a bit sensitive, but I would prefer that to deter intruders. All the lights are hardwired in to a switch in the loft giving us the option to turn them off if required (not that I can think of a reason to do that). They are expensive at full price, but wait until an thinkassemble.co.uk sale to get them at a great bargain.

If you’re serious about home security and already invested in the Ring ecosystem, compatibility is amazing and this upgrade is well worth it.
