Cheap as chips but are brilliant little radios. Easy to work, charge easily and quickly, easy to hear other person very clearly. Good range. Small. The clip is very strong. The only drawback is the plastic feels a little cheap and i can only imagine would be brittle of dropped? However, they are awesome for the price.

Fantastic item, they have really good range, fun for the kids, they use these while playing and we also use when camping and they work amazing, charge lasts long and really easy to use, nice design not bulky at all and not heavy so great for carrying around. Would recommend these to anyone!

We tested these walkie talkies and found that the quality was good they feel solid and are a nice size the antenna is a permanent placed antenna and the power is only. 0.5 w however the range is good we tested them in a built up area and hilly terane and the reception was clear over a quarter of a mile. We are sure they will go a lot ferther that’s good for a quarter of a watt. They can also be programmed to apply a scramble modulation on what ever channel you choose. For the price they are good but remember they are not top of the range but for basic communication they work well.

Great package for the price. Came with some charge, but soon charged up. Good mic and audio quality from the units themselves. Plenty of volume to be had. Outside distance just fine, limited only by regulations, but meets expectations. I had a signal about 500m from my house which is more than fine for my use. I got them for cycling with a friend. Nice and chunky with a wrist strap and removable clothing clip. The earpiece/mic accessoires are a mixed bag. The audio quality through the earpiece is really good. However, the mic quality is pretty poor, and the push to talk button is a bit flimsy. I was in contact with the company regarding the software download and they responded very quickly. In my reply I mentioned the earpiece issue and they said they appreciated me taking the time to let them know. There’s a paper manual included which talks about programming them. Not really needed for casual use. Literally push to talk using one of the 16 PMR channels available. But for geeky folk, the software is downloadable from the Retevis website. You’ll need a cable and the cable software if trying this out. The tweaks really aren’t worth the hassle for the average user. Worth every penny. I’d have loved these as a child! Highly recommended.

These are excellent PMR radios with simple controls. There’s no need to cycle through a menu to change channels or other settings. The range is as good as you’ll get with any legal UK spec 500mw 446 PMR radio. Maximum PMR range is obtained in open countryside/line of sight, but expect much less in built-up areas. 16 channels, so using channels 9-16 will avoid interference from any (more common) 8 channel radios in use nearby. The radio speaks the channels as you change them and there’s also a voice low-battery warning (there is no visible battery-level indicator). This and other features can be disabled/modified using the optional programming lead connected to a PC. Check out YouTube for tutorials on how to do this. Be aware that modifying some programme settings will render the radios illegal to use in the UK. The active element of the antenna does not extend the full length of the plastic outer, so you can shorten the plastic section by 4cms if you find the length too unwieldy. The removable antenna has a male SMA connector, secured with a hex grub screw, but be aware that fitting different antennas may render them illegal to use in the UK. I use the radios every day and find them reliable and easy to use. I have owned several models of PMR radio over 20 years and these are the best yet. I strongly recommend. This is not a paid review!

Easy to use, good quality audio. Only tried distance of 30 minutes but very clear. USB charge which is easy to assemble but you need one for each walkie talkie. A single cradle for two WT and a direct current plug would be preferred.

Worked excellent on a recent family camping trip. Very good range. Have not used the earpiece yet (forgot I had them) but can only enhance the product. Great battery life and good to be able to charge the battery without the handset.

If you just need a straight forward walkie talkie then these are great, speaker, clarity all really good.If however you wanted to add vox for a while, you need to buy a separate data cable, then hook up to a pc and turn vox on via software. You cannot have vox on a single channel (retevis confirmed this for me) so if you then don’t need vox, you have to hook up to pc again. This is a massive pain as when out and about you probably won’t be carrying your laptop. If vox was available on the software for a single channel, then these would be 5*, but for my needs, far too much of a hassle and too impractical to keep.

    Ottimi
