I was looking for some 4-gang switched extension leads, and I found these. A great price considering the price range you see for such items in general. A switch on each socket, and the plastic around each switch lights up red when turned on. Being recessed, the switches require a precise and firm press, so I’d say slightly more difficult to operate than larger switches you might find on other leads. Surge protection lamp indicated that protection is active. No USB sockets but I didn’t need these. Black plastic finish has flow lines in it all over, as the surface is fairly smooth. I didn’t care about this particularly, as the black colour itself looks smart. I purchased two and mounted them on a wood-effect panel on the side of my hi-fi cabinet using the two keyhole mounting cut-outs on the reverse. I’ve now got 8 switched sockets so I can turn each piece of equipment on and off at will. At the price and the fact they’re switched sockets with lamp indicators and there’s surge protection included, these can’t be beaten in my opinion.

The listing shows a 13A plug that is removable which is great if you want to remove it (like I did) and pass the cable through a hole and then re-attach the plug. Unfortunately this now comes with a moulded plug (which meant it was of no use to me).However, for the vast majority of people buying this, it does exactly what it is meant to do, which is to provide a one meter extension lead with 4 sockets.

There is not much to say about this extension lead apart from price and quality are acceptable. It is fit for purpose.

a black extension lead is so useful on a desk where several sockets are needed! And black rather than white means that although it sits on the desk it is very unobtrusive (almost camouflaged against a dark wood desk.) well made item and arrived when promised. Thank you
