Palram Aquila 2050 patio cover
Canopy was delivered within a few days of ordering even during lockdown , well packaged , I put this up myself however it would have been easier with two people the only issue I had was the fact my house is bricks and mortar and some of the holes that needed to be drilled would have been in the mortar ,so I wasn’t able to put all the screws in the long bracket that the canopy goes in and also I could only use two of the holes in the arms that are mounted on the wall ,and couldn’t put them where the instructions stated, I had to move them to get the holes fully in the brick ,Looks good would definitely recommend

Palram Aquila 2050/1500
Delivered quickly although unfortunately the box was open, having said that thankfully all parts are boxed within and therefore no parts were missing. The instructions are fairly straight forward, it can be put up with 1 person but it will be a struggle for you as you need to be able to rest the strutts on your head or shoulder whilst inserting the first of the bolts. I did ignore the instructions a bit as it was being used for a side access with limited room to install. If you are using it for this purpose yourself, you can put up the rear beam first, then fix the brackets/strutts at the correct intervals ensuring all parts are checked with a spirit level, it all came together ok. The gutter part is then fitted and the perspex panel slid into place, be warned though if you do it this way, the perspex will scratch as it glides along the top of the brackets even with the plastic trim protection supplied. If you do it carefully enough as the perspex does flex, you should manage to avoid scratching it too much. Finally you then put rubber trim in at the rear beam, which requires a tall ladder and long arms, and also along the gutter which can be done from underneath, curling your hands over. Only problem I found is that as we connected two together they do not meet completely flush and do let a bit of rain through but I intend to bridge the gap with rubber. Finish is of a quality product and those who have seen it comment on how modern/nice it looks.

Great product just as seen on photo
I bought this product a month ago and it was very easy to assemble. The instruction guide from YouTube was very helpful and straight forward, but I would recommend the panel goes on first before the end poles. My husband and I fitted it and you definitely need two people to fit it. Very pleased with this product.

I’ve purchased palram products from thinkassemble.co.uk before and have a high opinion of the quality and value for money.
I researched before buying and was not dissuaded by other comments regarding the build instructions.
It was simple to assemble and the clear instructions are backed up with a YouTube video.
I am very happy with the finished installed cover and suggest it may be the best on the market.

Helpful hints for fitting patio cover
I found it best to remove all the packaging and to assemble all of the parts loosely on a blanket (excluding the Perspex). Then take measurements from the loosely made item to mark the locations of the 9 big wall screws. This enabled me to check that there was enough height above to allow for the top seal roof strip to be fitted.
The rubber seals were difficult to slide into the metal parts so I sprinkled talcum powder onto the rubber seal and that made the task simple!
To save scratching the perspex during assembly, I peeled back the long edges of the protective green plastic by 4” (front and back) then fitted the perspex and then removed the rest of the plastic protective covering once the Perspex was in final place. It’s takes a little mor effort to get the underside plastic off but minimizes the chance of scratching the Perspex roof:)
Most of the job is a single person task but the fitting of the Perspex roof is defo a 2 person job with 2 small step ladders.
It took me 2 hours to fit after I found all of my tools.
Tools: Masonry drill, drill bits, large and small x screw driver, tape measure, marker pen, hammer, spirit level and a bottle of something to drink:)
Failing the above, just pay someone else to fit it!!!!
Hopefully this patio cover will survive the west coast of Scotland gales?

I had looked at this item for over a year and eventually bought in the pre Christmas sale. Excellent value for money and looks really good especially compared to others. Took my husband 2 hours to put up by himself, he found the instructions easy.

Good product just not right for us
We have no clearance above our door as we have a bungalow, so j is phoned the manufacturer to see if I could fit this without the middle bracket and was told yes. So have fitted it but without that bracket the Perspex which is not shaped in a curve bends down into the opening and looks dreadful the middle bracket is essential for the Perspex to keep its shape
Not really a product fault we are trying to get a piece of timber shaped as the bracket to solve this otherwise it will have to be returned

The reviews already on line were very positive about this and I agree. It looks good; it’s made of heavy duty products and has good quality bolts. It does require a second pair of hands at times to install and I certainly used ‘a man’ but a competent DIYer could do it themselves.

Dry doorstep achieved.
At last shelter from the rain dripping down on us as we enter the door on a rainy day. We can now leave our boots on the doorstep without them getting wet. Excellent quality as expected from a Palram product. Two person fitting by two old codgers with good instructions and all the parts! Looks great.

Quality item
I was very pleased with the quality of the canopy. It’s very sturdy and looks great once up. I put it up myself. The only tricky bit is fitting the polycarbonate panel when doing it by yourself while trying not to scratch it. An extra pair of hands would have been welcome. Overall it’s easy to install and the directions are clear. I would definitely recommend this canopy.

I had been looking to purchase one of these for my back door and the alternatives I had looked at were far more expensive. The quality is very good and it was relatively easy to fit. I would say that we fitted it lower down than the guide recommended as it did seem to be too high.
