I was almost put off buying these walkie talkies because there were a few less positive reviews. However, I am very pleased that I trusted the positive ones. The units ARE robust and of good quality manufacture. The display is excellent. The charging options are good (included rechargeable that comes with a UK charger with leads to charge both units at once) or AA batteries. My only criticism is that the charging ports are micro-USB rather than USB c – a common situation with these types of devices. What most people do not appear to grasp is the issue of range. It completely depends on the situation: From hilltop to hilltop with direct line of sight you could probably expect 10 km, Within a city with lost of buildings and no direct line of sight it could be as little as 200 meters. All of these style of walkie talkies are limited to 500ma output and this limites the strength of signal they can manage. I think that these are AMONG the best.

Fantastic product. Used for a roadtrip with fellow car enthusiasts around The Scottish highlands.Did the job perfectly and encountered no issues.Range was probably less than advertised where 1 mile was the most it could cope with before we had communication breakup

I like the design. I like the simplicity of operation and the mirriad number of channels you can use. I like the range. A couple of blocks away, with fairly dense housing the the signal from outdoors still penetrated the thick solid walls of our house. Believe me, that’s good for this kind of unit. Also tried them at a large festival, perfect for keeping in touch with a coworker. Crystal clear too. I am guessing that they’ll do pretty much 8 – 10 K line of sight (from 1 hill to another) if you want to sit on a mountain talking to another person on another mountain. You have a choice of 16 FM channels, (in the UK, some countries only let you use 10) plus sub channels on each channel so if the airwaves are crowded where you are you can easily find a quiet one. Though in practice I have only ever heard one user nearby. (if you are curious, you can easily put the device into ‘scan’ mode and it will search channels until it locks onto a signal. You may have a long wait though, as you can imagine, most people simply use mobile phones) But one annoyance, there are no charging cradles. You have to connect them up to an annoying set of wires plugged into tiny sockets. And yet there are what appear to be charging cradle points on the units. Please sort it out, eh Motorola? Would have given you 5 stars.

A MEJORAR:1.
