Hassle free amazing coffee
Takes a little bit of playing around with to get to understand and use this properly. Buy some cheap beans whilst you play around using trial and error.
Once you have got the hang of it (and it won’t take long) invest in good quality beans to allow the machine to show off to its full potential.
I wanted a coffee machine which made amazing coffee without the hassle of all the grinding myself, twisting banging and mess just a couple of presses and this is exactly what I have.
I am yet to try all the possible styles of coffee as once I had perfected how i like it you can save it and make it each time.

So far, so great.
It looks good when switched off & even better when on with its LCD display and illuminated touch pads. You can link it to your phone or pad via Bluetooth and set up your recipes on them or via the LCD on the machine & store them.
Subsequently I found it easy to fine tune these recipes to our tastes. Once it is set up, making coffee using the “my coffee” option is easy.
It is quieter than our previous De Longhi and the coffee is hotter, tastes better (to me) & it makes better cappuccino milk froth. Self cleaning is easy but the drip tray and grounds container need to be emptied more often. It can be tricky to empty the drip tray if it is full as it is easy to spill it.
I can’t comment on reliability or after-care but it is a great machine if you love coffee and the many recipes for it.

The price was wonderful, the machine is very good . The Bluetooth might give you a bit of a headache as it needs to be connected to the app each time you turn it back on after automatic shut off, but the coffee is wonderful! Not even close to the capsule ones! Once you learn how to use it , it all becomes a breeze. My only concern is that the coffee is so good that I am drinking to much now xx lol xx

Outstanding bean to cup coffee machine
For the money there is nothing better. This is a great bean to cup coffee machine which is really versatile. We use the ground coffee module for those who want decaffeinated coffee and the dual bean module for light and dark roast options. The grinder is significantly quieter than my last machine, and I love the way it makes the coffee to original recipes.

Magnificent coffee machine
I have long wanted a bean to cup coffee machine and after extensive research, I chose the Melitta Barista T SMART. This because of the ease of use and cleaning. The unit is much longer than I thought (twice as long as the width) so I have put it in the utility room. I love the Bluetooth connection and can tweak my own recipes to be memorised via my phone to be saved in the machine. I even love ordering my coffee recioe from my bed, whilst my husband places the mug on the machine. The 2 hopper bean storage is great too. I can put stronger roast beans in one side and lighter roast in the other. The milk reservoir is essential for lattes and cappuccinos but is important to not leave the milk out and rinse it after use.

Great machine, tasty coffee, shame about the app
I bought this machine in March 2019 and I am really happy with it. It makes a brilliant cup of coffee. Since purchasing this machine it has certainly been well used in our house. I have owned several other coffee machines over the years but this one is the first bean to cup machine I invested in. It’s a large but well build machine.
The water container is quickly removed and easily filled, the drip tray and spent coffee bean tray is quick and effortless to empty. We keep the milk container in the fridge and “plug it in” as and when we require. I love the self clean feature – a must for any coffee machine!
The coffee comes our really hot with thick crema on top. The froth on the cappuccino is thick and luxurious.
This machine is, in my opinion, one of the best but reasonably priced machines that produces a professional standard coffee.
For this review this machine deserves 5 stars (for it’s performance, looks, quality of drinks…) however, the app that is available for download is a joke. On my iPhone it doesn’t work at all. Perhaps someone from Melitta will read this and do something about it?

Fails to deliver adequate amount of milk
Had two machines and both of them were sent back for a refund. I read the review on Which on the similar but slightly better model and that was their top rated machine. The main issue that I had was that the machine would not deliver an adequate volume of milk when making cappuccino / latte drinks despite what was selected, even the standard latte menu item would only deliver around 80ml instead of 120ml. Regardless of the volume of milk selected it always delivered around 80ml. In addition a real niggle is that the machine quickly needed the waste emptying and the container is the full length of the machine and easy to spill as you carry it, an issue raised by other people. The Bluetooth works ok but the machine needs to be switched on first so you can’t switch it on with the app.

Easy to use, easy to clean
What a difference this has made in the morning. It’s no noisier than our previous Nespresso Latte machine.
Great thing about it is the simplicity. The latte button is now programmed to our favourite mix of milk / coffee and cleaning is so simple.
After four weeks still learning what it can do but no more takeaway lattes from the local coffee shop.

I’ll break this review in to pros and cons
Pros
Easy set up, creat coffee taste, easy to use, the App is great and great interface, the heat from the coffee machine is excellent.cleaning, very stylish.
Cons
Some of the plastic components feel a bit on the cheap side, coffee lid has already broken, there is no auto wake up function my previous machine had, to use the machine from the app you have to manually power it on the app can’t wake the machine up. The coffee bean holder could be lager.

Lovely, quick and easy coffee
We love this machine as it’s about as hands-free as you can get, and offers a variety of great tasting drinks. It ‘forces’ a self cleaning programme after each milky drink, however it’s also important to stick to the more periodic cleaning schedule for the brewing unit and milk container/pipework. The spill tray is easy to empty and clean out, as well as the handy separate spent puck container. The dual hopper is a great feature for us, allowing a super fast switch between an espresso bean and one more suited for milky drinks. If you intend to use decaf in one side, I’m not convinced that a few beans (talking single figures if that) from the caf side wouldn’t fall in to your first shot of decaf after switching, such is the design of the separator door – just as a word of caution if that would be important to you – your first shot after switching either way may/would be a hybrid.
The milk foam is lovely and dense – when it works properly. Ours started ‘spitting’, which affected the foam density/amount. After research I found we are not alone. We get good foam currently by regularly keeping the lines clean using their cleaning fluid (included), as well as disassembling the milk nozzle unit and soaking overnight in the cleaning fluid, and keeping the flexible milk line straight (but not pulled so taught that it cocks the push fittings either end) when in use. We have no idea which of our efforts are placebo and which actually work, but touch wood it hasn’t been playing up since. The quality of the milk (not so much the brand, but the way it’s been treated in the supply chain) may also be a contributing factor. It loses a star for this, but on the other hand I suppose this counts as normal maintenance on what is otherwise a fairly worry-free coffee machine.
The menu system feels like it could benefit from an overhaul (when compared to the more impressive touch screen systems in equivalent competitor products), as well as the connectivity for the app, and the app itself. My partner gets on well with it in order to customise her coffee via her iPhone, whereas I find it more trouble than it’s worth on my Android unit and prefer to use the machine directly. This is also a factor where it loses a star for me.

Great coffee machine
Love this coffee machine and the extra options through the app. Easy to clean and fully automated. My only criticism is it uses a lot of water rinsing after each coffee – small price to pay to have a very clean machine! (I should add you can turn the rinsing off).
