Komado Joe Jr – great kit !
Fantastic Grill, perfect for family of 4 to 6 BBQs.
thinkassemble.co.uk had a great price of £380, and it went on a promo a couple of weeks later and thinkassemble.co.uk honoured the price match so was excellent value. The Komado Joe Jr comes with an outdoor cover and has been a fun piece of kit to cook on.

A great kamado from one of the best brands
I’ve always wanted a kamado and the kamado joe brand caught my eye. I must say, though, the quality of this kamado is way better than I expected.
It was a complete bargain at £299 which was £200 less than anywhere else. Delivery was around a week. And was very professional.
There is a good range of accessories that come with it such as ash tool, grill gripper, a cover and the All important heat deflector.
I’ve done a few cooks since purchasing which have been low and slow briskets, ribs, steaks and even smash burgers ( with the use of a flat steel plate) all have come out perfect.
It takes a bit of getting used to dialling in temperatures, but once you get the hang of it, temperature is stable and I’ve had it hold 120°c for nearly 8 hours.
As for the grill size, its good for my needs which is a family of 3 any more you might want to consider something bigger. It can fit a whole chicken, a supermarket sized rolled brisket and I’d say about 8 burgers just to get an idea of the size.

No damage on arrival. Instructions as minimal so best idea is to buy a book – Hot Coals. First outing was a disaster. But by the third it was fine.

Great little BBQ but heavy
The best price out there by quite a bit. A great kamado for the price point. I would definitely recommend a few upgrades (which you can buy elsewhere), like the ash basket and soapstone. You can fit a full chicken in but you need to remove the grate and replace it with a cast pan instead, that way you can also throw some potatoes in too.

Wow, what a BBQ, can’t stop using it. Smoked a brisket of beef yesterday the control of heat was so much easier than my kettle BBQ. The meat was perfect. Steak, chicken, salmon and veg all cooks so well and great flavour

Great BBQ. Cools great and retains heat so uses less fuel. shame they don’t sell the cart for the Joe Jr. Its heavy so not really portable, if you want a bbq for the beach go with the Weber portable range

I already have a Kamado Joe Classic II and Kamado Joe Jr. When i saw Joe Jr was on offer i purchased one for my son who has just moved into a new house. Great barbecue, super versatile and very fuel efficient. Lifetime guarantee on the ceramics which is reassuring. Can cook anything from burgers to a small slow pulled pork. Another reviewer has posted a photo of a whole chicken, which fits easily. Lots of great YouTube videos to get you started. Smoking Dad is a great channel to explore.

Excellent product, excellent price, though it’s pretty tight when it comes to the standard “bag of chacoal” that most of us use.
It’s pretty tight for cooking for a reasonable size group. The Classic would be better…. but that’s a LOT more expensive (and not available via thinkassemble.co.uk).

Great size for a couple
Bought this for my partner’s birthday and he’s happy with it. Perfect size for cooking for two people and gets up to speed quickly. It is heavy so ideally you’d need two people to pick it up. It’s advertised as portal although I’m not sure you’d want to take it any great distances.

Bought this to compliment the full joe have, excellent size for a smaller meal and can be hidden nicely in the corner of a shed. Didn’t realise it came with a cover which is handy if you need to leave the unit out (great quality)
