Bought this to go in my Triumph Stag, I didn’t want a radio that looked like it had been pulled from the helm of the Starship Enterprise, looks the part with the twin knobs and has all the functionality you need of a modern radio.Installed with a standard telescopic electric aerial and LEADSIGN DAB Splitter as I didn’t want a DAB aerial stuck on the windscreen or mounted on the wing as it would look out of place.Picks up all the DAB stations I would expect in the area, 15 DAB presets, phone integration for calls and music streaming works seamlessly. USB track navigation isn’t the best, a simple button press for track skip and folder skip would have been nicer to have.Setting up is a little clunky owing to the lack of buttons, not sure whether I’ll have to go through it all again next time the battery is disconnected.Small niggles though, it look great, does everything I want and at the offer price of £128 a bargain.Update Feb 2024: DAB radio stopped working, no sound from any of the stored channels although the display would show the stored channel name. A full scan failed to find any stations. Removed the radio and installed my old DAB radio which worked perfectly. Of course now well past the return window so opened a chat session with Think Assemble support. Explained the symptoms and the agent , without question, arranged for a return/refund. I mentioned that the price had increased since my purchase so the agent made up the difference with a gift voucher.Took about a week for the return, refund, new order and delivery of the replacement radio which works perfectly. It does seem to suffer a similar ‘bug’ that the previous one suffered in that when first turning on it seems to get stuck on whatever DAB station was on when the radio was turned off. Takes a bit of preset button pressing and scrolling through the sources, or maybe it’s just time, to sort itself out.Fantastic service from Think Assemble as usual.

Great radio, looks fantastic in an older car too, and it’s not too flashy or complex. Nice DAB, rear Aux, phone mic, sounds ok and you can alter the display colour to match your vehicle. Compact size means it fits nicely in the dashboard, I don’t miss the CD player. If you want to play music from your iPhone however, you will need to do so via Bluetooth. If you use the USB it will only work for a few days and then you get a message that says READING and no playback. I have had this with two Blaupunkt radios now. You can charge your phone via USB but that is it.Seller is super helpful and really quick to respond to queries. Blaupunkt are apparently working on a fix having first denied there was a problem with these. So be aware that it is not iPod or iPhone compatible (as the spec suggests) at the moment for more than a day or two. If you disconnect the power for a bit it resets itself, but not for long. Not sure about Android phones or memory sticks.Great radio, you should get one, but it is not as advanced as Blaupunkt would have you believe.

Purchased for my 1979 MGB.Looks great and sounds great. Links with my phone for tunes and the subtle DAB Ariel maintains the cars looksz

Fit to my 1998 Mitsubishi Evo V, wanted a stereo that suited the look of the interior which this does achieve well. Simple but quite OE looking (suits the cheap plasticy interior! Don’t expect a super high quality feel)In general the sound is good, bluetooth music streaming works well. Lots of outputs on the back. The phone however is pretty poor. Using the supplied external microphone, people I’m calling can hear lots of distortion, or sometimes it “sounds like I’m underwater”. I will try another brand of microphone with it in case that’s the issue and update when I have a result.Overall pretty good for the money

Very bad, I cannot do a call with these, people are not hearing me etc.White illumination is very blueishSound quality is silly ok but nowhere near it should be.
Heptode –
Two stars because,The sound, in my opinion, is very good with the speakers in my car and the buttons and volume control are a sensible size and are easy to easy to operate when driving. Also, the radio doesn’t lose settings when the car battery is disconnected.Minus three stars becauseThe display is too dim to see with any display colour in daylight even with grey February skies.FM reception on the radio I purchased was awful to non-existent. My previous radios worked fine.Tuning DAB is an exercise in patience. Push a button, push another button, push the same button again then turn the right-hand knob thereby scrolling though many DAB stations until you find the one you want. Maybe it was me but I found the same station several times while attempting to tune.Find a station press a preset button to store.Contacted Blaupunkt who answered quickly but appeared unwilling or unable to assimilate the contents of my email.Thank goodness for Think Assemble returns system.Follow Up:Fitted a Kenwood KMR-M508DAB radio. Good reception. Visible display. Good sound.

No nonsense stereo, good quality and excellent DAB reception.Great value for money.

The display is way too feint -just almost invisible even to those of us with good eyesight. The DAB reception was always poor -it kept cutting out. Sound quality was reasonable and it always read ok from my USB.(I think water may have dripped into it from a leaking windscreen -causing it to switch itself on and off at random times -which I’ll assume is my fault and I’ve replaced the windscreen) . When it came to replacing the radio however, I reluctantly went for an unavoidably uglier/ fussier looking Kenwood, in exchange for better developed functionality. Like many others, I would willingly pay the same again -or even more, for as nice looking a classic car radio if it worked well, but no-one seems able to cater for us.

OIdtimertaugliches Radio ohne Premium-Aufpreis

Great for classic cars !
Very satisfied! Old style look whit real buttons instead of touchscreen fits my car perfectly! You can choose out of many colours to match your car interior lighting. Bluetooth connectivity works super fast!DAB antenna is not included so buy one too if you want to use it.
