I bought this rather than the system that had to be hard wired to a fuse box to fit into my 2024 Octavia vRS. I had to make a minor modification to the car OBD to make this fit correctly but it was so easy.I had to rotate my OBD through 180° which after releasing two plastic clips was easy to do. This unit then fitted straight in and with some careful running of cables behind the trim I have a clean, cable free install.Highly recommended.

It appears to be a good quality product but due to ill health couldn’t try it out until a few weeks after purchase. The plug that fits into the dashcam is extremely tight and it is not powering up the dashcam so it may be faulty or the wrong cable packaged as the correct cable. Unfortunately it doesn’t work. I will try to return it but I may be too late.

Please check you have the correct pins available. Not all vehicles have ground on the same pin such as my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. See on the image the pin 5 from the right that Blackvue use for ground is not there. Some manufacturers use a different pin for ground. Otherwise would have been an excellent choice for ease of installation and operation. On a side note, when fitting the power kit that comes with Blackvue cams both power leads must be connected for the camera to function.

While camera comes with hardwire cable I though of this as good alternative – but this cable is not working on 2021 as ODB. It’s decent quality cable though.
