It’s really good in terms sound and range. I was wondering weather we could us it with out a licence. I had a old walkie talkie which usually work with any other walkie talkie but this one is not working that way

  2. Ian

Good quality. Feels a little cheaply made but good range.Battery lasts for very long time with lots of use

Channel selection:Only been using the radios for a few weeks but found them to be excellent ,easy to use .incription a big plus.no issues with others  users coming through issue I found with previous radios I have purchased. Good value.

First the good – They sound really nice compared to other models I have used. They have a really far range (Mine worked at about 2 miles with hilly terrain between us). There is no gimmicky lights or digital displays. Easy to assemble and no interference during use.Not so good – They cost on average nearly a third more than and average set of similar quality (£30.58 at time of review). The PTT button needs to be held for a slight bit longer than the time spent speaking or otherwise it cuts you off. There is a very noticeable delay… I can have a direct conversation with myself using these without talking over myself. Lastly is the clip on the back for hooking to an article of clothing… it is not spring-loaded, feels very brittle and does not have a lot of give. If I were to guess this would be the first point of failure for these walkie-talkies.All in all though they do the job and they do sound great… just a little pricey.

Excellent ‘on-site’ use. Very helpful if trying to keep track of a teenager in his/her room for instance (without the need to either ‘holler up the stairs’ or burst in unannounced!).These offer a variety of uses. The sound quality and build quality are excellent, in our view they offer very good value for money and functionality – my review also gives you a good clue how they are used in this house!

I’ve been playing around with these eSynic Professional Walkie Talkies for a couple of weeks now, mainly around the house, garden and surrounding area with my kids but I also put them to the test in quite an extreme situation where I was really surprised at how well they coped. The radios themselves are the perfect package and have everything you need, while at the same time dropping everything you don’t need to keep the price down.**- It should be noted that I didn’t receive any base stations as depicted in the marketing images, although this is possibly because I received the radios for review? -**What you get is a rugged little handset with a good aerial, nice ‘clicky’ wheels that can be operated wearing gloves and a proper lithium battery that can be removed. What you don’t get is a screen, fancy lights or anything else that’s unnecessary… these radios aren’t toys.I didn’t miss a screen as the voice prompts that were produced when you changed a setting were very clear so I always knew what channel I was on.They worked great around the house, garden and surrounding streets and I never had any issues with range or conversation clarity. The included earpieces are a little bit on the light side, but they were a welcome extra and they both worked just fine, although I preferred listening to the speaker on the handset itself, which sounded a lot more natural. The tricky situation I tested these in was walking along a river with the dog, having been dropped off by my wife and kids in the car.I left a radio with the kids as we walked and drove in opposite directions and despite my elevation being around 30 metres lower with no line of sight, I reckon I got almost 2 miles range from these radios. That may not sound much but the kids were in a moving car and I was walking much lower down than them, shielded by a river bank and housing etc. With no other aerials available to send and receive other than the built-in ones, this was impressive. As a family we like to have a couple of radios with us for countryside day trips where phone service may be unreliable. In such circumstances I’d be more than happy handing one of these to my kids and letting them explore while we relax, knowing we have a good, reliable means of communication with them – for the money I have zero complaints.

Firstly, and most importantly, these walkie-talkies function well and are easy to use out of the box once you’ve assembled the various parts. The package includes everything you might need – the radios, batteries, antennas, removable belt clips, lanyards, and USB-C charging cables. It’s worth noting that unlike the product pictures, there are no charging cradles. Instead there is a USB-C port with a rubber cover on the side of each radio and you get a pair of USB-A to USB-C cables. You will need a charging plug or other USB-A socket from which to charge them. The construction is basic and not particularly premium in look or feel but seems robust enough. The only parts that might not stand up to rough treatment are the belt clips. It’s nice that these are removable if you don’t need them but they would probably be stronger if they were part of the unit itself rather than a clip-on attachment. The optional ear pieces are fairly basic and not the most comfortable. The performance of these radios is on a par with others that I have used that operate on the same unlicensed frequencies. Range is good outdoors but is reduced when there are walls or buildings in the way. The sound quality is pretty good but there is a noticeable delay if you are using an encrypted channel. In the default configuration you get 10 unencrypted and 6 encrypted channels to choose from.I found the instructions to be frustrating as they hint at other capabilities/configurations. They mention “optional programming software” without any indication of where to find this software or how to use it. You can also supposedly enable/disable various functions such as the voice prompts and VOX functionality by pressing and holding the two buttons on the side of the unit. This didn’t seem to work for me. I was unable to get the VOX functionality working. If you just want basic walkie-talkies and don’t need the more advanced functionality these are fine.

    Get what you pay for.
Connection was good between the two radios but within the 1800 square foot house sound wasn’t to good. Value would be great if radio functionality was a lot better. Sending back and looking for something else and will pay more better quality.

    Hand-held walkie-talkies
Why did you pick this product vs others?:My husband is a licensed ham radio operator and likes to use and review various walkie-talkies/hand held radios.  He says this is a very nice good quality set of walkie talkies but that it comes pre-configured on 430MHz to 440MHz frequency range which aren’t used for the general public in the US. Those frequencies include space/satellite operations and ARS (amateur radio service) and you have to have a license to use them. To avoid accidentally transmitting on prohibited frequencies, he was able to reprogram them to 462MHz-467MHz which are US GMRS and FRS frequencies but it’s not easy to do and requires a special cable to attach to a computer to reprogram. If they came programmed on the correct US frequencies they’d get a 5 star rating.
