It’s minor, but it’s an annoyance, and that’s having to use a cable to get Carplay running in my car.I know some newer cars have wireless Carplay and Android Auto as standard, but a lot still require the cable.I always find it an inconvenience having to use a cable so I’m always looking for things that’ll make my life easier, these dongles are pretty simple but they just work, perfectly.This was a case of plugging into the USB port on my car, connecting to the Bluetooth and WiFi of the dongle and.. that was it.As soon as that was done, it all opened and had full functionality as it did when I had the cable connected.Latency was basically zero, moving between screens was instantaneous.Again, these things are relatively simple but it’s just an absolute pleasure when things are plug, connect and play.Can highly recommend if you’re looking for a wireless carplay dongle.Don’t think I can go back to cable connections now.

Bought two of these dongles. Had to return one as it stopped connecting to the car and phone within a few days. So far the other one is still connecting ok. Very easy to connect. Took less than two minutes to attach to the car. However, it has now started failing to connect automatically after just a couple of months. . Cannot be used with two phones easily either.

Firstly it started off well, but there have been multiple instances now where it just won’t connect. And I have had to plug it out and put it back in, then disconnect the device wifi or bluetooth from my phone, and it’s a whole kerfuffle which I don’t want when I’m getting in the car to drive- sometimes under time pressure and I want my music or maps to connect straight away. Then once you have re-connected the device on your phone bluetooth, occasionally it will delete the previous connection leaving your apple carplay design back to the factory setting, so all the personal app layout and wallpaper will be gone! Secondly, the lag between music switches is long as well, a good few seconds where the song will play anyway regardless if you press skip straight away. Finally, you cannot have one phone connected to the device, and then plug in a separate phone or device into another USB port for example to charge it, it stops completely or swaps onto the OTHER phone which is just annoying.

If you have CarPlay in your car and have to attach your phone via your lightning cable every time you get in the car to connect to your CarPlay system, this is a fantastic device for you.Basically, it turns your wired CarPlay connection into a Bluetooth connection so your phone connects to CarPlay wirelessly when you’re in the car, saving you the bother of having to plug it in each time using your official iPhone cable.You don’t have to remember to bring your lightning cable with you every time anymore… Heck, you don’t even need to take the phone out of your pocket. It just connects to your CarPlay system over Bluetooth seamlessly o ce the device is set up.It’s a very simple process to install, only takes a minute or two – just plug the dongle into your car USB slot (2 adapter cables are included for if you need an extender or a USB-C slot), look for the device in your iPhone Bluetooth settings, connect to it, and select ‘use CarPlay’. All done.After that it just works – you now have a Bluetooth CarPlay connection that removes any need for you to plug your iPhone into the car. Your phone connects automatically when you get in the car.Stylish looking, very useful, great value and it’s very easy to setup – a definite two thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼

Lasted 9 months and then stopped working. Wish I had read all the reviews, particularly the low scoring ones, before I purchased this as it seems it has a shelf life depending on how lucky/unlucky you get. Wouldn’t recommend. £28 down the drain.
