Sony Bravia 8 – Fault on delivery
Not thinkassemble.co.uk’s fault but the Sony TV had a fault on delivery and has been returned as I will not accept a repair on a new TV.

Very impressive TV
Great picture, and surprisingly good sound from the built-in speakers with plenty of bass. Slightly odd having both Freeview Play (which directly accesses the various catchup services (BBC iPlayer etc.) to view past programmes) and the native ‘TV’ app (which doesn’t). They look and feel quite different, also only the TV app supports recording. Just an observation rather than a gripe, and I guess many people will use streaming services rather than live (or recorded) TV 99% of the time. Overall it’s an excellent TV and very happy with it.

Brilliant OLED TV from Sony
I’m absolutely thrilled with this TV! The picture quality is stunning, and the sound is exceptional. Watching movies on this screen is an immersive experience. Setting it up was a breeze—quick and straightforward. Plus, it comes with all my favourite preloaded apps, so I no longer need my Apple TV. I highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for an upgrade!

Great Picture With Caution
Nice telly – shame the Sky Box can’t deliver quality. We bought this television to see top quality images. We have Sky Q multi-room and this television was destined to our kitchen area. When set up, the feed showed a maximum of 1080, rather than 4K or better that the tv can show. Sky tell me that’s the best they can offer. Fortunately streaming services can offer 4K so we can watch movies with a great picture. Best to check with your supplier before deciding on how to invest your tv budget.

Owned this TV for 3 months and so far it is simply wonderful. Natural colours abound and no need for a soundbar as the sound is great! only small gripe is it does not have a socket for wired headphones so you need Bluetooth headphones to listen to.

Amazing TV with great picture and sound quality!
The TV has been great since past 2 weeks now. Fantastic picture quality and sound. For normal TV soaps and shows viewing the sound is excellent and even for action movies, I found the sound to be excellent. I am not sure I would need a soundbar as everyone suggests to have one. I would say the price I got at thinkassemble.co.uk for £1710 was a good deal in Oct 2024. Obviously prices could still go down for the Black Friday deals, but who knows. The next cheapest I found for this TV was £2100 and that was also some unknown site, so it was a great buy at the price!
Only on one ocassion, the TV suddenly while watching started to have pixellation across the screen and the images on any video content from any platform like thinkassemble.co.uk, Plex, Netflix were all showing hazy picture quality and distorted. Still photos were all good. I am not sure if this issue is due to the Google OS as we tried to even cast the videos from my phone and they had the same problem. So I power off and restart from the remote, and it did not fix it. I had to power off the TV from the power socket, and then restart the TV and then the image quality was back to normal. So guessing it was a glitch with the TV Software, but not sure and it hasn’t happened again.
