I picked up the a6400 after years of just using my phone for photos and wow, it has completely reignited my love for photography. I am no pro but this camera makes me feel like one. The autofocus is crazy fast and accurate so I actually get the shot I was going for instead of a blurry mess. The image quality is amazing even in lower light and I love how compact and lightweight it is.It has just enough settings and customization to let me learn and experiment without feeling overwhelmed. The flip up screen is perfect for framing shots from tricky angles and the battery life has been better than I expected. Honestly, every time I take it out I find myself looking for more things to photograph.If you are an amateur like me wanting to get back into photography this camera is the perfect balance between easy to use and capable of producing seriously impressive photos.

I normally use my phone to take pictures but wow what a difference to the pictures this camera makes.The quality and the build to the camera is fantastic and feels more expensive than it is.I started using the camera in the auto function but quickly more to manual have a bit of studying the image quality is fantastic I have selected the “raw” function for how the photos are saved as it allows you to do more with the photos afterwards. The camera has a flash but have since bought a speed light to create a bit more intimacy whilst taking portraits.It comes with 1 battery which seems to last for a long time especially when I have studied the settings for hours .I know a professional photographer who has said that this camera is very good.

My second Sony A camera so I knew what to expect. I think it is great but cameras are a matter of personal preference. Good cameras are few and far between and very expensive but I am well pleased with the A6400.Update: This is a Sony A6400A which means it is the 2025 model wich has done away with in camera charging. A battery charger is now supplied that is mains operated. If you want to charge “on the go” purchase a usb charger from Think Assemble. The other change is (This had me wasting time trying to update camera that would not accept updates!) is thet being a “new” issue model firmware is shown as Version 1 but is in fact the old A6400 Version 2. Firmware update will not work but is also NOT required. Still a great camera.

Great camera for the price and size, no decent software to transfer your photos. The Creators App does not support this, it directs you to another software which is not functional for me, at least (others who have tried it aren’t more impressed either)

Brought this as an upgrade to my trusty A6000. Needed better autofocus performance for wildlife and aircraft subjects. However, it will not charge in body and it will not connect to upgrade to V2 firmware for the animal eye tracking feature. The supplied usb cable works fine with my old A6000. Sony confirmed it’s faulty so returned it.

Superb little camera. I had to replace a Lumix pocket zoom that was becoming unreliable, so purchased a Sony RX100. I was so impressed with that that I purchased the Alpha 6400 a short time afterwards, a decision I do not regret. It is compact, lightweight and very well built. Image quality is superb and the autofocus lightning fast in all modes.The 16-50 kit lens – well, it feels very flimsy and has a cheap feel to it, but images are good. IF you shoot RAW ( Sony AWR ) there is a little vignetting at the wide end, but that is easily edited out in post. Overall, a great camera that should last years.

Min första Sony kamera, och första spegellösa efter år med Canon DSLR system. Köpte på budget och satsade mer på objektiv och adaptrar. Jag är nöjd än så länge, men har inte flera spegellösa att jämföra med. En sak som jag saknar är att kunna vinkla skärmen så jag kan titta ner på den i vertikalt läge. Jag gillar den lilla storleken, för en anledning för mig att köpa var ett minska utrustning jag har med mig. Med ett pannkaks-objektiv på är det nästan som att ha med sig en kompaktkamera.Jag ser dock att priset gått upp nästan en tusenlapp sedan jag köpa för ca en månad sedan.
