This Samsung EVO Select 512GB microSDXC card has proven to be an excellent card for my Steam Deck, fulfilling all the right ideas for seamless expanded storage. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with its performance; it’s incredibly speedy and handles games and data just as well as the console’s built-in SSD.Its capacity (512GB) is ample for a wide range of games and applications, and for those using it for media, it confidently supports both Full HD and 4K UHD video quality. Everything stored on it has maintained excellent readability, and the overall quality of the card is evident. It works exceptionally well without a hitch, and crucially, I haven’t encountered any card corruption or issues with it whatsoever, which is exactly what you want from a memory card. This tiny little bit of plastic now holds more data than my first 10 computers combined, which is either marvellous or mildly terrifying. I bought it to expand the storage on a Steam Deck, and so far it has worked like a charm. Quick transfer speeds, smooth performance and no hiccups when running games or transferring files.It comes in no nonsense packaging and slots in without any fiddly nonsense. I ran a few speed tests and it holds its own quite nicely, even with more demanding applications. No drama, no faff. Just gets the job done quietly in the background, like a good cup of tea or a reliable pair of socks.Only slight gripe is the price. While it is good value for this capacity and performance, you do feel a bit nervous holding something so small that costs this much. Do not sneeze while opening it, basically. Otherwise, it is an excellent bit of kit.
