I received a Roberts Rambler Max radio as a Christmas present from my wife. Unforutnately the BP3 rechargeable battery pack is considered to be an optional accessory by Roberts. Personally I think it is an absolutely essential accessory. I was going to order one directly from Roberts, but the item was out of stock. I was delighted to find that thinkassemble.co.uk had this very item in stock. Delivery was quick and efficient.Having fully charged the battery pack I can say that it works as intended. It transforms an excellent radio into a truly portable one. Five stars from me.

*Updated after 3 monthsBattery packs does its job OK. It doesn’t last as well as I’d hoped. I use in my beautiful Roberts Rambler Classic (new model type) which could not of course run on small batteries. The battery pack feels overpriced, though, is underwhelming in appearance and presentation – ie. the QR code for safety / instructions did not work – there’s no such page on Roberts’ site. I’d MUCH rather have paid more for a complete radio. However this perhaps gives the opportunity of future upgrades as power packs improve. So it gives a bit of mobility to the radio but it needs frequent recharging.

Arrived on time and easily inserted into my radio so I can use it everywhere in my home. Charges up quickly.

great idea and works great in radio, lasts ages, but bad design for plugging it in to the radio, the lead, which is stiff ahs to be bent back on itself making it difficult for the battery to fit in its compartment, once done and wedged in, i guess we’ll never have to touch it again, charges great, allows great freedom away from a mains supply for the radio.

  5. L. G. Bettag

This is a ‘must have’ if you own a Roberts portable radio. It charges while the radio is plugged into the mains, and the battery symbol lets you know how much charge is available.

Excellent item. Will be worth the cost over time. The downside is that it’s not easy to plug into your radio. Place it in with the silver label uppermost as featured on the Roberts website. If you’re elderly you may need the assistance of a second person so to avoid damaging the five- pin terminal inside the radio. Having said that, once it’s in the radio becomes portable and it has a good capacity.

  7. Brian Winter

A small unit. It is for a number of Roberts Radios. There is not much to be said about it. My only concern is the connector is small and fiddly and on a very short cable. This may make it hard for those with poor eyesight or hand dexterity to fit into the radios. Other than that a good product.

It works for about 8 to 12 hours.
