A pair of low cost PMR446 walkie talkies for use in the UK /EU PMR446 band.They fit nicely in the hand, stand up on a desk, come with decent sized (1000mAh 3.7V) batteries and an ‘on case’ USB charge port’ or ‘Drop in USB’ desk charger. They feel solid and fairly robust but I would not call them anything close to waterproof despite their ‘marine’ looking appearance. I think a zip-loc plastic bag would be wise in a canoe/rain / damp camp environment!As usual with Retevis it all works well out of the box and the radios provide good clear local communications as well as expected with PMR446 (low cost. low power, fixed antenna 2 way radios)All 16 channels are already programmed with all 16 EU PMR446 frequencies and Retevis’s own choice of privacy ‘tones’ as given on page 5 of the included paper manual (see Picture)My test found them well within frequency tolerance, reasonably immune to local interference, nice and loud /clearThe ability to copy channel settings in from another radio (One touch Frequency Pairing) is a good feature for joining an existing group of radios and fairly easy to do even outdoors / ‘on the spot’ .Fine-Detail feature settings are not available on this base level radio (this model has no menu’s display etc, just an couple of LEDs, knobs, two press buttons for Scan VOX, monitor etc and voice prompts). On the set for example you can turn VOX on and off but not adjust the VOX activation sensitivity for example.The settings are ‘in there’ but to access that level of customisation you’d need a PC, and special cable and matching programming app (not included) . I hope Retevis will be able to add a pointer to the UK sales page on where to find and download these when available.Overall these are very capable base level radios and work out of the box and ready for local /family use with the ability to easily ‘import’ the frequencies and privacy tones from other existing/nearby radios you may already have.

Stopped working after two days very inconvenient as we were working separate. Sound quality was okay nothing special however if you are under a bridge or behind a wall it loses range and the quality drops to a very crackly noise

Lieferung und Lieferumfang sind top. Alles inkl. Ladestation vorhanden, auch die Erklärung ist sehr gut. Abstriche gibt es nur bei der Reichweite, die ist nicht sehr gross. (Enkel wohnt 2,5 km entfernt und ist nicht erreichbar) Es ist eben ein Spielzeug und nicht mehr. Wer mehr erwartet, muss wohl mehr investieren.
