It’s not DMR or dPMR but don’t let that put you off buying this superb radio ! It does analogue perfectly well and has a digital vocoder that effectively encrypts your comms (but you’re still sending an analogue signal.) The digital encryption is excellent (you won’t hear it on an analogue radio unless you open the squelch and even when you do, you’ll only hear a repeated pulse tone !) It’s 100% compatible with the slightly cheaper Baofeng V1d (and can be easily programmed with the same BF V1d software.) Use the software to increase the power to 2W and, for close-range communication, change the TX to Wideband. Setting the frequencies to the high PMR channels (9-16) turns this radio into a very darkside PMR ! The noise reduction feature is very effective. There is an additional encryption function for a further 32 codes along with a versatile scan feature. Even though it isn’t compatible with the BF 1701 or DM32, it’s still a very useful radio to have if you need super secret comms but the digital encryption isn’t legal to use in the UK on PMR frequencies nor is increasing the power beyond 0.5W. The antenna is fixed, the casing is rugged & strong, the volume & channel rotary controls feel very positive. For anyone wanting an unusual 16 channel radio that can operate from 400 to 470 MHz, this might just be the ideal choice.

Non si tratta di DMR, ma di dPMR
Attenzione, per quanto riguarda gli 8 canali digitali, occorre specificare che non si tratta di DMR, ma di dPMR, questo apparato utilizza una crittografia che non è compatibile con quella degli apparati DMR, rendendo impossibile la comunicazione con questi ultimi.Per quanto riguarda gli 8 canali analogici, nessun problema di compatibilità con gli altri PMR, anzi segnalo una buona sensibilità in ricezione e una ricezione nitida, nei limiti della distanza utile.

Non è una radio che opera sulle frequenze DPMR
Radio che non utilizza le frequenze DPMR ma PMR, ha solo 16 canali e non 32 pertanto non è una vera DPMR. Con il software fornito non si effettua nessuno programmazione di frequenze nemmeno prossime alle frequenze dpmr. Le Radio dpmr hanno un prezzo di oltre 200 euro.
