Love this watch. OK, it’s expensive – over £100 more than my previous Polar M430 but it’s much better. It’s well built, nice looking and feels quality. The best feature for me is the recovery metrics as I train hard, I need to know how my body is reacting. The only thing which is a bit odd is the ‘boost from sleep’ statistic. It flies counter to the ANS and sleep score stats. For example, I had a terrible night’s sleep, my ANS score was very poor, my sleep charge was very poor and my ‘nightly recharge was very poor. However, the ‘boost from sleep’ was good. Nonsense. I just don’t use that function anymore.

I upgraded from a Polar Unite and what a difference. The screen is so much better and more responsive. The additional features such as cardio load and recovery are really useful for regular trainers (not just athletes). Strap ‘retainers’ can be a little fiddly when putting the watch on, but hold it securely when in place.

As someone who wants to stay active and needs to lose a stone in weight, my doctor recommended swimming as the best exercise. This watch has been perfect for me. It has a 1.28-inch display is bright and easy to read, which is a huge plus since I do need reading glasses. Plus, it’s scratch-resistant, making it ideal for everyday wear. It was simple to synchronize the watch with my fitness app on my phone, so I can easily track my progress while swimming. The dual GPS seems to be spot on, and the turn-by-turn navigation is a lifesaver, especially since I tend to panic if I get lost, this watch really helps with that. I also like how it tracks my heart rate, oxygen levels, temperature, and even does an ECG, allowing me to monitor my overall health during workouts. One of the things I really like is how it monitors me while I exercise in the pool. Since it’s water-resistant up to 50 meters, I don’t have to worry about it getting damaged, and it continues to track my activity while I swim laps or do other water exercises. It claims to track over 150 different sports, so it sounds like there’s no activity it can’t handle. The battery life is supposed to last 30 hours during training or 7 days as a regular smartwatch. I haven’t fully tested it yet, but I’m eager to see how long it holds up. This watch also helps me understand how my body is performing and recovering, which is exactly what I need.Overall, this watch is exactly what I need to track my heart rate and monitor how much rest I’m getting. It’s easy to use, packed with useful features, and keeps me motivated to stay active, whether I’m swimming or doing other exercises. And, it looks good on your wrist too.

Finally a watch that delivers my needs and expectations, a watch that works out of the box without hours of faf and fiddling (Apple), a watch with good battery life and outdoor visibility, easily uploaded reasonable quality offline maps and isn’t stuffed full of unwanted apps. It just works, really well and is comfortable to wear all day.The only negatives are sometimes the touchscreen seems a little unresponsive, but the buttons work fine and for now I can’t find a way to resume a paused activity which is odd!Overall for those seeking a great value, serious watch for outdoor use this is it. Unless you want a bigger, slightly heavier, but slightly better maps and performance then go Suunto Race…..

  5. Shibby

I’m not a smart watch person, I love my analogue heavy wrist watch but this may be the first one to convince me to switch!Firstly the watch is nice and well made but light enough that you won’t notice it and it won’t get in the way when running etc. It’s super easy to set up you just download the app and create an account. It’ll take 5 days total for all the sleep functions to calibrate (most done in 3) so make sure to wear it to bed if this information is important to you.It gives you really detailed breakdowns of your sleep, heart rate and breathing surprisingly it even has an ECG function which to me is really useful with a dodgy heart. For outdoor use it really shines! You can connect as long as you have sight (be outdoors!) to satellites straight from the watch no phone needed. It gives you a compass, gps maps with really decent accuracy and elevation. I can imagine this being really useful when camping or hiking. You can also use it with your workout routine and it’ll aid you with that. The battery life is good so far! I’m on 50% after 4 days of use obviously this will be less using all the features regularly. It comes beautifully packaged with a spare strap and charging cable. The watch fits great I can’t imagine many wrists it won’t fit and it’s really comfortable. The features and functions are really impressive for a small device and it’s been my everyday wear since I got it.I’d definitely recommend this. Great company and a great product!

Presented perfectly with a strong giftable quality presentation and setup is an absolute breeze and this watch is reasonably user friendly. The watch is easy to apply with a good comfortable, durable and lightweight versatile design with a clear screen which is neat and the whole thing is stylish.Long lasting battery which is convenient for workouts and for its multiple features.Links well with the dedicated app which runs like a dream toTweak settings and health/exercise tracking.Great watch overall especially for workouts / training and various exercises with a responsive and reliable results.

Unstable, unreliable, and ecosystem‑breaking — avoid this watch
I wanted to support a small Finnish company. I thought, “Surely the Bluetooth issues people mention in reviews won’t happen to me.” Well, they did — and worse.Sleep tracking: I finally managed nearly 5 hours of sleep (a rare victory), and the watch failed to record sleep stages. Instead of admitting a software limitation, it blamed me for “not wearing it properly.”H10 pairing: During cycling sessions, the watch kept flickering between optical HR and the H10 chest strap. Result? Corrupted HR averages, calorie counts, and a completely unreliable dataset. My phone never had issues with the H10 — only the watch.Recovery Pro test: The HR icon kept switching mid‑test, leaving me with chaotic readings. The watch couldn’t decide which input to trust.Ecosystem sabotage: Correcting HR values reset my Beat app thresholds, undoing careful calibration. The watch doesn’t integrate — it destabilizes.Kubios connection: I had to uninstall apps and unpair devices just to restore functionality. These aren’t quirks; they’re bugs baked into the system.Battery life & screen: After just 36 hours, the battery dropped to 58% — with only 50 minutes of GPS use. Even with the dim screen “philosophy” meant to conserve power, it won’t last 3 days, let alone the promised 7. The screen is too dim to be useful, yet the battery life is still pathetic. That’s not conservation, that’s compromise at the expense of user experience. This watch doesn’t just fail on its own — it actively undermines the rest of your training ecosystem. Reliability, stability, certainty? None of the above. I hate to say it, but Huawei delivers what Polar cannot: consistent connections, trustworthy data, and peace of mind. The best feature of this watch? The power‑off button.Verdict: If you value your time, your data, and your sanity, avoid this watch.
