I’ve been using the Polar Loop for a month now, alongside Apple Watch and Garmin (sometimes even with all three devices together! I love to compare!).First, I love the Polar band as it is incredibly comfortable. Soft, light, doesn’t snag on clothes, and never feels intrusive. Compared to wearing a watch, which to me feels bulky and distracting at times, the Loop feels much better. It’s the only device I can actually sleep in, as I forget it’s even there.Another huge advantage is that there is no subscription fee. You pay for the band once, and that’s it. No pressure and reflection on whether it is still worth it. You can wear it, ignore it for days, and all your data will still be waiting for you in the app when you want it.It also tracks sleep surprisingly well. It shows sleep cycles, recovery quality, and different types of sleep. It helped me notice how much my bedtime affects my overall rest. This is genuinely most useful insight, not just numbers.I also love that it automatically detects workouts. No start/stop buttons, no need to remember anything. Again, you just go about your day, and the device logs everything on its own.Then, the battery life is fantastic, I charged it twice or so during the first month and it tops up very quickly (literally 20min). After the daily charging of the Apple Watch, this feels like freedom.With respect for to the drawbacks. In my experience, it does overcount steps a little. Maybe I should change something in settings. But compared to Apple Watch and Garmin, the numbers are noticeably higher. Hope it can be adjusted in the settings… I suspect it slightly overestimates calories as well. For someone who relies on precise numbers, it might matter.A couple of times it mistook quiet resting for sleep. Like if I was lying down with a low heart rate, it assumed I was asleep. Not ideal, but understandable for this type of device.So overall, the Polar Loop is perfect if you want a comfortable, discreet, completely low-maintenance device for sleep and general daily activity with no subscription, no constant tapping, no babysitting it. You wear it and live your life, and it does its job in the background. Considered you can adjust step counting, this is a great everyday companion, especially for sleep tracking.

Very nice strap. Looks good on casual and even smart outfits. Bands can be replaced and you can come up with unusual combinations if you want. The app is ok, no surprises if you’re used to Polar. Sleep tracking and reporting still confuses me, though. And I’m not sure whether we’re in different realms – it says I’ve slept well on a bad night and I’ve slept bad on a good night. Most disappointing is the activity tracking though. I’ve spent an hour on the treadmill on an incline walk – it wasn’t tracked at all. If I simply walk up and down the stairs, it records it a indoor activity. By the way – basically everything is tracked as indoor activity and I always need to adjust the activity manually …. and I haven’t found a way of adding any activity manually, if it wasn’t tracked. I guess there’s a lot Polar can fix with firmware updates … And they should do so.

After the first 2 days of wearing my polar loop I nearly returned it as the numbers were bonkers, however on day 3 they released a firmware update that improved the quality of the stats quite a lot. I mainly bought this for 2 reasons:1. Monitor my heart rate during the day and during a workout: it does this quite well. The only bit that doesn’t work is the auto tracking of workouts. I recommend switching this off and manually starting a workout in the App. You’ll get better results like this. It’s also given me a good insight of my usual heart rate and how it recovers.2. To get some data on my terrible sleep: it does an okay job at this. While it does’t quite do the add up of how many hours you slept well (especially if you don’t sleep through the night) it does a good job of judging the quality of your sleep. I’ve noticed this as there are days where I have slept more but felt worse vs day I sleep less but feel better and both these trends are represented in the data.What I don’t like is they recommend you wear it on your non dominant hand. I prefer to wear a normal watch on my non dominant hand so this is a bit annoying. It is however easy to wear and looks pretty okay as well.All in all it allows you to have a fitness tracker where you have a bit more control over your data as the insights and sensor readings do noy sit behind a paywall. This makes it a more affordable option. However you have to accept that some of the extra functionalities are not going to be top tier and the app is just super unintuitive (They are working on this). I think if you are looking for the same uses I am it’s a pretty good tool. If you want more in depth specific insights then this probably isn’t for you.

I had high hopes for this, but it’s truly an awful connectivity journey. Mine arrived broken, the Bluetooth cut in/out, so I was never able to register the device on flow, support as with everything nowadays is even worse and the instructions to try to rectify what is clearly a build issue tell their own story, mine is going straight back and I won’t be replacing it, I’ll go with my original plan to either buy an Onura ring or a Whoop, back to my trust H10 in the meantime when Polar made products that worked

My current sports watch feels bulky and I only wear it for exercise, whereas I can keep the Polar Loop on all day and night without thinking about it, especially while I sleep.3) The Polar Flow app gives clear, straightforward insights on activity, recovery, and sleep without drowning you in data.Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase and would happily recommend it to anyone who’s serious about their fitness and health.
