I bought a second hand Nvidia Shield online and didn’t read the description closely enough, so ended up with a device with no remote. This was for use in the bedroom to watch movies on Plex, streamed from another Shield. Initially I used the remote from my first machine, which was fine, but since it’s blue tooth, the remote will only control one machine at a time. You need to unregister it from one machine to then re-register with the other, what a faff.Was initially quite annoyed as second hand remotes are scarce and are actually dearer than this item. Since the description of this was in French (despite being on UK amazon) and the relatively low price I was quite sceptical. But it is an original Nvidia remote, it does light up when moved, and controls the Shield perfectly.Only slight issue was that I had to setup the remote as a blue tooth accessory, not an original remote. But this could be because the Shield is an older 2017 model, so maybe later models have updated systems.

This is the original remote and connects no problem. Other cheaper options do not connect like this one. It’s identical to the original one that broke, same weight to it to. So quality item, absolutely functional, and worth the additional money you spend as it will actually work.

When I purchased my shield the gaming controller bundled with the unit doubled as the remote. The controller was large & cumbersome and since I bought the shield as a media device it wasn’t ideal. I had thought of buying this remote but they were way overpriced. Now that the price is down to a more acceptable £25 at time of purchase I took the plunge. Mine synced with the shield straight out of the box & is nice & intuitive to use. Negatives are it could be a tad bigger but that’s purely down to my personal preference. In summary, if you have a shield treat yourself to the remote.

Love the genuine nvidia remote.I prev got a cheap non nvidia remote ( only because genuine remote not available on amazon.) (This cheap version had a slow button reaction time and no lit buttons)So when a genuine remote became in stock on Think Assemble ( Only one left at the time!) , I ordered one immediately

Solid feel with phenomenal battery life
When I received this remote. I was going to wait a couple of months before I wrote a review because it has lighted buttons, And I figured that I would be lucky to get two weeks use out of the batteries so I installed a couple of Eneloop rechargeables just in case. Well, it’s now been over 5 months and the battery indicator on the Shield TV box still says that they have over 60% charge left in them. Wow! the last 3 remotes that I had would only go a max. of 2 months on a charge, some less.I’ve tried other remotes and sent them all back because they were junk but this one is REAL quality! The buttons are lighted and have a solid but silent feel to them and the remote is RF so it will work in any position.Con’s: The Netflix button does get in the way at times but… If you load the “Button Mapper” app from the Google Play store you can reprogram this button as well as others to do better things (or nothing at all). I reprogrammed the menu button so that a long click will mute the sound (This remote does not have a dedicated mute button). So now it’s all good and is my favorite remote of all time.I thought the triangular shape might be a problem but it is not, just roll it on it’s side for the other person to share it. Also, to change the batteries, all you have to do is press your fingernail in the release button on the top rear and slide the remote about 1/4 of an inch to release the battery cover. It’s a little stiff at first but easily opens after that.

Bough it for a Shield Pro and the remote works perfectly well. Seems to be an original Nvidia product.
