This is an excellent product, after having dissatisfaction with my previous disc drive, I was aware I needed a new one, this was on the slightly more expensive side, however it makes sense why, my expertise with it has been flawless, it works fine with my laptop and I believe it’s compatible with most other major laptops. It is relatively small, which is perfect for portability, not to mention that it burns CDs quickly and works without having to wait long. Also this is very simple to use and is very user friendly, even to those who don’t often use technology. You press a button, put your disc in, push it in and it’s done.I honestly couldn’t say a single negative comment about this, as in my opinion it is near flawless!

Very happy with this DVD drive. It’s slim, lightweight, and extremely easy to use. I just plugged it in and it worked straight away with no setup needed. It’s clear, straightforward, and does exactly what it’s meant to do. Perfect for laptops without a built-in disc drive. Excellent value for money – I’d definitely recommend it

I wish I had bought this sooner instead of paying £40 for some crappy one from Think Assemble. Works well I’m able to watch DVDs and rip CDs. It doesn’t make as much noise as I thought it would seeing that it cost £21.My only issues are that the USB port is rather short and the Type-C connection kept disconnecting when I was using it to watch DVDs.But other than that I’d give it four stars it would be five but because of the type C connection disconnecting and the short USB connection it’s 4 stars.

Bought for playing DVDs. Excellent little drive. Very quiet in operation. Drawer is not motorised and the build is plastic but with care handling , should last a few years. Had to download some software to run from Google Play, there are numerous options, but I went with some freeware called VLC media player. Seems to be working well with Windows 11. All in all, very pleased with my purchase.

Bought it to use in Linux mint. Worked out the box and I’m via a usb3 hub but works on the PC usb fine aswell.Only using one cable that tucks nicely into the drive.It was plug n play, has all the capabilities as it does in windows.As others say, the led just cycles colours for me, not sure if there’s a driver to change its use.It’s noisy being an external drive but we’re not fussed these days.I’m using Brasero to burn audio cds with track markers.It read dvds as well and also burnt a working dreamcast image that booted.I’m writing at 24x with no issues on 14 years old cds.

Poor. A Mac does not see it in locations unless you plug in and load CD/DVD after two or three attempts. If you put your fingers on top to stop unit sliding when closing tray, the casing is so flimsy the drawer jams. At the end of any operation pushing eject on either the icon or on the player button, it never opens. Have to use emergency eject hole every time. This emergency eject hole has cavities behind and no end of alignment is required to eject. Instructions are next to useless. Unfit for purpose. Don’t drive yourself mad with this drive.
