Lovely item and very useful – I live in a block of flats with an underground garage a couple of floors below and it communicates through the building no problem. Also very easy to set up and use.

For £24 for two these are excellent little radios. Clear sound and solidly built. The batteries seem to last a long time in standby, 3 x AAA per radio (not 4 AAs mentioned in the description). Rechargeable batteries are a good option if you are transmitting a lot as you could probably get through a set in a day.Not sure why it needs a pairing function as there are no sub-codes. Pairing seems more complicated than just selecting the same channel, but might be useful for some.A few things to be aware of: The sound is loud even on volume 1, goes from 0 (muted) to 7. The call tone is like a long telephone ring (~2 seconds) so can’t be used to transmit Morse code. There is a bug with the speaker repeatedly clicking if going from muted to unmuted with keypad tones turned off. Returned one set and got another but the same defect was on all 4 radios. It stops after transmitting, changing channel, etc. I can live with it for the price.Otherwise an excellent, simple, low-cost or first-time PMR radio. Much more than toy-grade but also perfect for kids.

We bought a set of these for use on a narrowboat holiday to avoid my wife having to use sign language when she was up at a lock and I was on the boat trying to work out what she was trying to tell me. I wish we’d had them years ago, it would have saved a few arguments and got us out of a few scrapes. The range was good and the sound is crystal clear.Having read the reviews I was expecting to have to change the batteries daily so I bought a shed load before the holiday in anticipation. I needn’t have worried, after a weeks use we were still using the first set, with no deterioration whatsoever. Furthermore they were cheap alkalines from Lidl. Granted, we were careful to turn them off when not in use but even so I would say the battery life was excellent they had loads of use.I noticed other boaters were using larger more sophisticated walkie talkies, but I think I’d still buy ours given the choice as they are so small and lightweight. The best purchase I’ve made in a long time, I fully recommend them.

These are good but wish they were rechargeable! Signal and range is decent and they are pretty robust, still work after my 5 year old has used/dropped them! Not waterproof! Look great and simple to use
Stuart Hopkins –
Great product. Sound is fab, size is compact. Quality good
George Bardsley –
Very small but efficient. No plug for headphones though. Will need 3 batteries to power.
