I decided to buy this dehumidifier to help with drying my laundry indoors.. both of my daughters have this brand already and they only have good things to say about their applicances so I decided to follow suit
It’s just a superb machine, runs quietly in laundry mode and does the job its meant to do, which is to dry my laundry.. it also has a HEPA filter so it is purifying the air at the same time so that’s a bonus… this is a good size and has various fan speed modes and can also be set on a timer, all of which can now be done from an app on your phone..i can’t praise it highly enough and just wish I had taken the plunge a bit earlier in the winter

Fantastic, effective and does the job
This is the best thing I’ve ever purchased for my home and family health. We normally suffer with mould growth on our walls in the winter but there hasn’t been any regrowth since my last removal now that I have this machine running for most the time (I have mine set to 55% humidity so it’s only on when needed). The running costs are low and my laundry is dry in my small flat within a few hours. The added air filter is a great bonus as my husband suffers with allergies all year round. I wouldn’t say night mode is quiet enough to sleep with in our bedrooms but we have it upstairs on the landing and it doesn’t bother us from there. Absolutely recommend this product.

Meaco Arete two 18 litre
Purchased to replace a 10 year old ebac unit which was no longer working as well as it used to! Spent a fair while researching dehumidifiers and after much consideration opted for the Arete 2 from . Liked the fact it was an 18 litre variant and the price was excellent. Having now had the unit for a couple of moths I can honestly say I am very impressed with the quality of the product, it is sleek, efficient, stylish and the amount of water it removes is amazing. I hadn’t realised how bad my old Dehumidifier had become. The meaco is simple to use and the fact I can control it directly from my phone is fantastic. I love it.

Excellent Dehumidifiyer quality Service
It is not as quiet as i had liked/wanted but for effecient removal of water from your environment it is amazing just put it in the house anywhere you like open the internal house doors and let it work. 10 days later whole house dried out. The bliss of not having to vac the condensation off the windows every cold morning and wet walls around the bay windows. If your in the market for a full house machine get this one – just dont expect it to be quiet as a mouse after all its got work to do.

Sloshing sound when compressor is running
I bought this from online and it arrived promptly. The issue is there is a sloshing sound when the compressor is running. I suspect there is not enough coolant inside that the compressing piston keeps paddling the coolant? Not sure if it is just this one or every this model is the same. I had an Arête One which works fine and no sloshing sound. Try to return this but collection driver never shown up.

The internal doors closed for heating purposes and all the internal condensation on windows is gone in a large 3 bed detached house. Also i suffer with hypothyroidism and my throat has been much better since having this dehumidifier. Highly recommend – it’s easy to use (love the meaco app) and enjoy seeing how much water it has collected (which I use to water plants with)

Great unit
Great product, took between 2 and 3 weeks of constant use to bring the humidity level down in the house, now it just ticks on and off as necessary. Previously my house was at around 70% and now down between 50-55% (this is by separate humidistats in the house rather than the reading on the Meaco).
When running it extracts about 5L between the morning and the evening (usually turned off overnight) – which is enough to fill up the tank.
Unit is not too noisy, much quieter than my previous Delonghi unit. Fine to have on the landing and sleep in the bedroom but would be too noisy to sleep in the same room.

Purchased this particular model from thinkassemble.co.uk – knowing very little about dehumidifiers initially. After some research I found that Meaco is the leading brand in this industry and then went on a hunt to locate the best product model/price for my needs. I ended up buying the MeacoDry Arete® Two 18L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier from thinkassemble.co.uk. It is the only place I could find this size at this price. Any smaller wouldn’t satisfy my criteria and any larger model would be excessive and consume too much power. This is the perfect model for me and it works perfectly well. I can’t recommend this enough.

Excellent purchase
Very happy with this dehumidifier after using it for a few weeks. It seems well designed and built. It pulls an extraordinary amount of water out of the air in my basement, finally putting an end to the slightly musty smell it used to have whenever the central heating was not running. Seems to be identical to the 20L model sold elsewhere. Useful app for checking if the reservoir is full.

Fabulous dehumidifier
Fabulous dehumidifier. This Meaco replaced our old one. It dries clothes well, is very to operate having a very straightforward display. I love it’s 6 hour cutout. That was enough time to dry all our wet clothing in the laundry room. thinkassemble.co.uk supplied it in two days. Excellent all round.

Life changing!
This dehumidifier is life-changing for drying clothes indoors. Our house certainly isn’t damp, but in winter sometimes it could take two days for clothes to dry. With the Arete clothes now take hours to dry. It has a wet clothes mode which runs for 3 hours and then turns off, and for lightweight clothes these 3 hours are enough. Certainly the 3 hours plus the rest overnight without the dehumidifier running is enough for 99% of our washing now. Absolutely wonderful. Could not recommend highly enough!!

Inaccurate Hygrometer
I picked this up as I was keen to get the latest model of the Arete, ensuring it had the latest features such as online connectivity and efficiency improvements. This model isn’t listed on the Meaco website main product pages but can be found within their support pages. It is very similar if not identical to the performance of the 20L model. However since using the product I’ve found two design faults with the model. Firstly, it under reads the humidity in the room and therefore turns off prematurely. I’ve verified this against a Siemens £300 hygrometer and an Arete 1 (previous model). The other design flaw is, when the unit is in standby mode it over reads the humidity of the room significantly and shows this on screen by suggesting that the room is WET. After turning the device on, it quickly realises the room isn’t humid and then turns itself off. All in all, it feels like a poorly designed and/or test product. Almost as if the 18L is perhaps a batch of pre-production models.
