Summary:
Strong performance for the price. The GPU runs cool with no throttling, and the laptop is quieter than many gaming models. The CPU does run hot under full synthetic all-core loads and will thermal throttle during Cinebench, but this did not affect real-world gaming. Slightly elevating the rear reduces this but a cooling pad is needed if you want peak CPU performance.
Day One Benchmarks:
Cinebench R23 single: ~2,100
Cinebench R23 multi: ~23,000 (slight thermal throttle)
3DMark Time Spy (total / GPU / CPU): ~13,800 / ~13,500 / ~15,900
3DMark Steel Nomad: ~3,000 points
