The Lenovo Idea Tab is impressive for the price. The 11″ 2.5K 90Hz display is sharp and smooth, perfect for streaming and browsing. Performance is solid with the Dimension 6300 , 8GB RAM , and Android 15 —fast and responsive for everyday use. The included Tab Pen and Folio Case are a big bonus, and the Luna Grey finish looks sleek. A great all-around tablet with excellent value!

Glad my always slow but throughout research lead me to this tablet. Enjoying it now for 10+ months. To start with I was looking for a good tablet, with a good balance of “everything” and without paying some crazy money. Who does not like a great deal, right? So:Good stuff out of the box:1) Sound! Yes, some would think this is not a priority maybe, but once you hear how this tablet sounds you really start to use it as at is intended – as a media device! Listen to the short video I’ve uploaded. Great mids and surprisingly -bass! Yes bass on a tablet! And loudness wise – my friends got surprised too. No wonder, as it’s louder that default speakers on my TV. JBL really did a great job here. Those speakers required some space as can be see in unusual design – but in my opinion it even looks great.2) It’s fast for the money. No, it’s not your competitive gaming device of course, but I’ve tried Asphalt and Marvel contest of champions and it runs smooth! Not surprised tbh as I had a similar but slower G95 processor and 8GB of RAM previously in a Redmi phone and it worked really well.3) Nice display. It’s not your 1k+ tablet display in simple terms and not super bright in direct sunlight – but it’s good and resolution is good enough to make your viewing experience after using a phone – not a pain.4) Solid battery. I really like the battery – 8600mAh capacity keeps you running easily a whole day. We often use it to monitor the baby with screen on – and it keeps up with it’s big screen way better than my phone. Also what is cool, when not used it barely discharges at all. In terms of charging, sadly not all markets get a 45W charger which would charge it in 90 minutes (as Lenovo advertises) but I charge it overnight anyway so even the slowest charger does the job overnight. I believe it will take around 3 hours or so. If you need it faster – get a 45W charger, shouldn’t be too much.5) Got surprised that wifi (download speeds) are considerably faster than a macbook pro of mine, which is 5 years old (not too old hm?). So Lenovo put relevant hardware inside in this regard, even on a budget!6) The integrated stand is super convenient, metal, solid, not flimsy mechanism keeps the tablet in any position you put it.7) It is well made device and does not look or feel budget either.Things to note:- It’s not super heavy, but not exactly light for a tablet. 650 grams which is heavier than most tablets of this size. Approximately 4 modern mobile phones. Yes, those speakers add up :). But in real life I personally did not find it really important, especially using it mostly around home.- Similar applies to size, due to the speakers, the tablets back is not flat as can be seen in the pictures too. It’s 13.6mm thick around the speakers and 7.7mm from mid towards top of it. What it means – it won’t lay flat (wobble) if the integrated stand is closed. But realistically the stand is so good that I use it 99 % of the time, and the rest 1% the tablet is in my hands, where this uneven surface makes it actually quite convenient to hold (the thick side).- Also, I’ve got mine exchanged as first tablet had out of the box few damaged pixels. So not dead, but a little square that had lighter colour than the rest of the screen, in any app of course. In fairness, no device is safe from a defect and amazon support sent a replacement tablet without much hassle. So overall, it’s a great device for reasonable money! Yes you can find even better screens and faster processors, more RAM – but it will cost considerably more. But even paying more, I’m pretty sure you won’t get such sound in a tablet!Really hope that you found my honest review helpful and that it assists you in your decision-making. Cheers!

Why did I buy this?My requirement was for a well built tablet with a decent resolution/brightish screen, good speakers that could go loud (without distorting), good battery life and running a recent version of Android (preferably not too heavily customised from Google’s ‘vanilla’ Android running on their Pixel phones/tablets), all at a reasonable price point. Not too much to ask for eh? :)Out of the box…The Lenovo Tab Plus felt solid straight out of the box with its aluminium body. It comes with few accessories. Just a USB C to USB C cable (approx 115cm long), Warranty/Quick Start Guide booklets and a memory card ejection prodder used to eject the tablet’s microSD card holder. Up to 1TB microSD cards supported. A mains charger is NOT supplied as standard, Lenovo recommend a Lenovo branded charger or a charger supporting 18 (min) to 45 (max) Watts for maximum charging speed. They state that USB Power delivery (USB-PD) is supported by the tablet. (More on charging later). As mentioned, the tablet has a solid feel weighing in at 650g (1.43lb). Heavier than most modern 11.5″ tablets. The tablet is marketed towards those wanting to consume music/movies on-the-go thus the inclusion of 8 loudspeakers housed in the speaker ‘bulge’ located in the lower half of the tablet (13.6mm thick going down to 7.7mm for the rest of the tablet) and a larger than average (for most modern slim tablets) battery with a capacity of 8600mAh.While on the subject of speakers, the tablet also offers a 3.5mm headphone socket for those who prefer wired rather than Bluetooth headphone connectivity. Both the inclusion of the larger speakers and high capacity battery obviously adds to the overall weight. But then given the tablet is aimed at media requiring bright screen settings, loudish audio from its excellent speakers then a larger than normal battery is required thus adding to the weight. The tablet has a built-in aluminium kickstand attached to the main body shell with sturdy hinges that adjusts to various angles (without collapsing!) which is great for media consumption.Brand new out of the box, the battery capacity was approximately 50%, easily allowing me to transfer content and settings from my (Pixel) phone via the included USB C cable and to download/install an Android update required to bring the device up to date (currently Android 14).With regard to software, Lenovo promise 2 years of major Android updates will be available which would take the Tab Plus up to Android 16 once released. Also 4 years of security patches. The Tab Plus sports 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. The main processor (Media Tek Helio G99) is nowadays considered entry level but in my opinion is certainly fast enough to get the job done. I haven’t noticed any huge lag swapping between apps. Screen refreshes are certainly fast enough in my book. I’m not a gamer, but would suspect this would NOT be the tablet for you if gaming is your thing.WiFi 5 is supported alongside WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.2I have not experienced any issues so far with the tablet’s WiFi.GPS is offered to include Glonass and Galileo support which is a nice to haveLiving with the Tab Plus…I’m not a big fan of the default Lenovo ‘ZUI’ Android Launcher so I have downloaded and I’m using the Lawnchair Legacy launcher which has allowed me to tailor my Tab so that my experience is much closer to the Google Pixel launcher. Obviously my preference is a personal thing and most users would find the Tab’s default launcher experience fine.I am very impressed with the Tab’s main selling point, its sound quality. The sound from this thing has to be experienced in order to understand what can be achieved with the 8 speaker setup.Battery life is not proving to be an issue so far. My only gripe has been charging. I initially used the USB power brick that came with my Huawei laptop that can only support 9V at 2A (18W), which is at the bottom end of the Lenovo recommended charging rate (18W min, 45W max). This resulted in slow charging requiring me to source a different charger that I had lurking allowing a much improved charge rate. Maybe Lenovo should be supplying an approved charger for this tablet? In conclusion…I am very happy with the Lenovo Tab Plus. It meets all my requirements without breaking the bank. I could have pushed the boat out and gone for a Pixel tablet which is currently (21 jan 2025) twice the price from thinkassemble.co.uk. Also I would have missed out on the Lenovo Tab Plus’s best feature, its speakers. One thing I miss with this tablet is a fingerprint reader, but I can live without that given its other featuresI will add any additional comments to this review if issues (or non-issues) arise. Please click/tap the ‘Helpful’ button if this review has added any value 🙂

OLED screen model provides excellent picture quality. ( I wouldn’t bother with other screen technologies). All in all a fantastic tablet and a total bargain.Previously always had various Samsung S series models. but these are so expensive these days.Took a bit of time to set up and remove excessive Lenovo bloatware.Downloaded third party launcher to personalise operation vastly improves the whole visual experience. The speaker array is vastly superior to any other tablet I’ve owned and provides an excellent spatial experience.Battery life is also really good. The tablet is heavy but really well constructed. The spring loaded stand is really useful as well.Volume and off buttons are easy to find.Basically, if you can find an OLED screen version, buy one!
