This is a big Improvement over the charge 5 mainly because of the better eq adjustment in the JBL app ,you can really dial in the sound according to your taste ,battery life seems to be better too although at the volume levels I use ,about 30%, this has never been a problem anyway ,the other strong point of the charge 6 is the ability to connect to your phone by type c usb for lossless playback which does make a difference in clarity and detail in the music ,there is a procedure for this type of connection which is a little tricky ,you have to hold the play button down simultaneously as you plug in the usb c connector ,it works but takes a little practice ,the sound is loud and clear which ever way you connect the charge 6, the bass is truly impressive from a speaker this size and easily fills an average size room without sounding like it is struggling ,I got the blue version as it was on offer for £99.99, and was surprised how nice the colour looks .the supplied handle appears to be robust and I useful addition over the older model

What an amazing speaker! Super loud and doesnt go tinny. Not too much bass but perfect enough for the size and what you would expect. Feels high quality and premium. Colour looks great too! Heavy for its size, but it isnt that big so still not heavy! Functions amazingly and great with the JBL app. Also being able to charge your phone from it while having higher quality audio is so good, although i hope theres a way to disable the charging part of it so it doesnt ruin your phone battery long term but didnt find that setting at a quick glance. But i highly recommend this speaker!

I’m very impressed with the overall portability, robustness and sound quality on this JBL Charge 6, wireless, rechargeable speaker, it looks cool in the Squad design, much better up close than on pictures and the logo looks better up close.The speaker is robust , durable, waterproof and dust proof, it came charged up to 77% straight out of the sealed box so I could set it up and try it out straight away.I had to attach the handle , which took a few seconds, it’s actually really comfortable and good quality, it makes it easier to carry and move.The speaker was easy to set up with the jbl portable app, it has preset equalisers or a custom 5 band equaliser, i set that up in a classic V shaped equaliser and it sounds great , the vocals sound brighter and more rich than with the previous charge 5, trebles sound better with an overall warmer feel to the sound , it’s not just a party boom speaker it is good with other types of music , instrumental music but does sound great with bass heavy dance , reggae and R&B.It is just a small compact speaker so it’s not perfect but I was impressed with the quality of the sound when listening to acoustic guitar music and more chilled songs, with rock and heavy metal it’s very good , very loud without distortion and has good punchy sounds , clear vocals and powerful drums.I like it, it’s slimmer than I was expecting, it’s well made , the battery lasts for hours so it’s a good choice for BBQs, beach parties and just for general listening at home.It was easy to connect to my mobile phone via Bluetooth and the jbl portable app, easily carried in a backpack to take outdoors and sounds great for a speaker of this size , could be a bit richer and more detailed at lower volume but this is a speaker made to be played at louder volumes, excellent value, connectivity was very simple and straightforward too.

Wow! What a speaker!Build quality, sound quality, and I really like the look and convenient size. Battery life is exceptional.Sound Quality: Strong, tight controlled bass that doesn’t overpower or bleed into the mids. Underpins the music incredibly well.The mids are crystal clear, vocals natural sounding and placed beautifully in the soundstage.Highs are detailed and not sharp, harsh or tiring to listen to.This speaker deals with all genres of music well at low and mid volume levels. It goes loud but mid volume is where it shines the most.If you like to listen to music with a driving bass line, that is when this speaker really excels – EDM/RnB/Hip Hop/Reggae, “fill ya boots!”I plan to buy a 2nd one at some point because two stereo paired via the app will be brilliant.Great speaker – JBL, very well done

The product offers excellent value. Its sound output is robust indoors, while outdoors, optimal performance is achieved within a 5-meter radius of the speaker.The device is suitable for air travel and easily fits within hand luggage. Please note that due to its battery, it may not be permissible to store it in checked baggage.Battery life has not been a concern, as usage is typically limited to a few hours. The inclusion of a USB-C port is a significant advantage, allowing for phone charging. Charging times vary depending on the charger used; a higher-wattage charger is recommended for faster charging. Based on my experience, a charger with a 40W or higher output is advisable. For frequent travelers, a multi-port charger with a 70W capacity is suitable for this device, as well as other personal devices.I trust this information is helpful.

My personal take
I would not say that the sound quality can be better, just that it does not match what I want. There is good bass but I prefer a speaker that has greater clarity in articulation- something which some smaller speakers have. For items like this, it is best to listen for yourself as sound quality can be rather personal.

I can’t believe the sound that comes out of the JBL Charge 6. It seriously packs a punch! The audio quality is top-tier, clear at high volumes, and has great bass. If you want a speaker that sounds much bigger than it actually is, this is the one to get.
