Must have item
Great tool box, draws work well, lots of space. Looks awesome

Very satisfied overall
Well built and robust but one key for all locks would be better than fiddling with 3 separate ones. To lock the drawers, a second push is required once they’re actually closed. A firm pull is then needed to open them. This was alien at first and I thought the lock wasn’t working. Once used to it though, it’s fine and is a good design. The drawers open and close smoothly. Delivery was direct from the supplier; it was quick and efficient.
Overall, it’s a smart unit, I like it very much but needing separate keys for each section prevents 5 stars.

Very happy
Overall very happy with my purchase. As others have stated the drawers can be hard initially to pull out and then they come out suddenly scrambling the contents that you have carefully arranged. This is obviously to stop them coming open when moving the box around, but can be annoying.
That is my only minor criticism as the fit and finish is good.
Be warned though this is a heavy bit of kit empty so full up it can be difficult to move unless your garage floor is very smooth. Unfortunately my garage has a rough stippled finish floor and with only two of the wheels swivelling it can be a problem positioning it.

Not perfect but it will do the job.
In good condition, I would give four stars, one star being lost due to the largest drawer being difficult to open and close and the small drawers being out of alignment.
However, another star lost due to the top tool chest being slightly crushed. The top plastic corner alignment pieces were broken and the sides slightly buckled which has caused the powder coating to crack on each side. It all still works ok so I’m not returning it as it’s too much hassle due to the size and weight.

Light duty.
Bought this as I saw the bigger ones in the shop but this is not the same quality at all. This is much lighter, thinner gauge metal and not great finish. If I had seen it in the flesh before purchase, I would not have bought it.
I was ready to sent it back but kept it at the end because one positive thing about being low quality is that it’s light. The bigger lower unit weights about 40kg which is almost half the weight of a main brand one like Facom or Snap-on so that will help as it will be used to attend racing events.

Certainly not ‘Heavy Duty’
Don’t know where to start with this review, I was so looking forward to receiving this but was very disappointed when it arrived. Drawers are quite smooth to operate but need a good ‘yank’ to overcome the catch when fully closed. The drawer sizes are not compatible with any modular tool kits I can find and the top lid needs to be open before any of the top chest drawers will open. I have yet to find why it is described as ‘heavy duty’ and don’t expect it to be the last tool chest I need to buy. I did consider returning it but didn’t want the hassle

Perfect for home mechanic/DIYer
A decent unit – one of the drawers in the top unit doesn’t close with a particularly positive action on one side, it feels as though it’s interfering with the auto-locking mechanism that is activated when the top lid is closed. It’s not enough of an issue for me to worry about but it’s worth mentioning here. If I ever find myself with some spare time I’ll take it apart to rectify.
Otherwise, once filled up, the drawers have a lovely smooth action and the unit feels robust enough for me. There are probably higher quality units out there, but not at ‘s deal price.

3 out of ten
This is not a pro+ box as it is nowhere near a professional standard; the paintwork is like tissue paper, the metal is very thin and the drawer mechanism is substandard – again, not professional. On hindsight I wish I had purchased the in store Kirkland model. This is not value for money. One to avoid.

Quality DIY & Home-Mechanic focused tool chest
I’d wanted a tool chest for years and performed plenty of research including hands on testing of various units (£ to £££) before opting for this Hilka, and I’m pleased to say I’m generally very happy with it. Having read one or two dubious reviews I was slightly concerned about build quality but those worries were unnecessary.
This is a very capable and decently made combination tool chest for the home mechanic or DIY enthusiast. The name (Pro+) is slightly misleading as it’s intended for domestic users (as signalled in the instruction manual) and isn’t suitable for daily abuse, but it is well made using adequately thick steel sheets and fixings that allow the tool chest to carry considerable weight without issue.
The drawers are lined with a thin layer of removable foam (to avoid considerable rolling of tools and paint work scratches) and are coupled with decent ball bearing runners that slide smoothly, especially when the drawer is under load and filled with tools. Each drawer must be pulled beyond a catch that does require a little getting used to (it’s a little stiff during the first 1cm of opening and final part of closing) but it’s no big deal and it ensures the drawers don’t fall open. It also provides reassurance that the locking mechanism will engage successfully with all the drawers as you can be sure the drawer has been pushed closed properly.
The locking mechanism is smooth as long as all the drawers are correctly closed. It is a shame that the three sections of the combination tool chest each have their own key. One key that operated all 3 sections would have been better, but this feature is obviously not provided due to the fact that the sections are all available to be purchased individually: Trying to ensure for security reasons that keys are unique for purchasers of an individual tool chest section, whilst also creating sets for multiple tool chests would be costly and difficult.
The 4 supplied running wheels are well made. They are reassuringly smooth and do not wobble or wander during operation. The two wheels that rotate also lock and stay firmly in place once the lock is engaged.
The top hinged lid opens nice and wide for easy access. The two supporting hydraulic rams work well (though time will tell how they perform after a few frozen winters) but they do sit within the well and can catch tools etc. on closing the lid if you’re not careful. The lid does need to be open to access all of the top section of drawers, but this is normal for tool chests and a good safety feature.
Regarding sizing, it is as advertised and swallows up a wealth of tools when they are located in a suitable drawer and with a little thought. I can’t comment on the fitment of off-the-shelf modular tool kits into all the various drawer sizes, but the majority of my cased tool sets fit ok or seemed to be made to fit. I removed the hinge pins from a number of my socket sets and placed the moulded plastic case halves into drawers with little fuss ( I did have to cut a few mm of plastic off of one tool set to allow it to fit, but that is likely down to the sizing decision made by the socket set manufacturer).
Overall this combination tool chest looks good, is thoughtfully designed, sturdy and mostly very nicely made. It has a very good array of drawers of useable size and is reasonably priced considering what it offers.

Hilka 17 drawer toolbox
This toolbox was good value for the price but unfortunately came with a small amount of damage which had been overpainted by the supplier to mask over . The build quality is not anywhere near the kirkland toolbox you sell in youre stores.
