OK, so the chatterbox didn’t last more than a day and the fur comes out. But this chatterbox lasted longer than any other (30second record to destroy one), the squeaker still works and most importantly, our greyhound absolutely adores him. Other toys became boring after a while, but not this one. He’s one year old now, quite threadbare and thin where the stuffing has come out when I didn’t sew him up in time. Nevertheless, he’s still her favourite toy ever and this one’s staying on my wishlist permanently. I only buy Happy Pet toys now as I find they last longer than other makes.

This is my SCWheatie’s absolute favorite – so much so that I’ve bought it multiple times from the States as it wore out. But sadly, no more… She is not one to rip up her toys but she will wear them out. When I found a small button battery on the floor where she had been playing, I examined the toy carefully. The battery had come out from the (incredible sounding) chimp voice box through a worn thin place in the material. She had crushed the box (plastic instead of metal) and thankfully had not swallowed the battery. There was another still in what remained of the box — all went in the trash bin. In the past these parts might have been made of metal. The separate squeaker seems to be sewed to the side and won’t come out. They should have done the same with the voice box which would have helped it remain well within the larger stuffed chest or head cavity instead of down in his “bum” where it was easily grabbed. Great idea but needs improvement. Sad dog story.

Absolutely brilliant toy. Mojo loves it, has had it an hour so far and hasn’t left it alone. As with all toys you need to make sure that you supervise your dog when playing, and if you have a dog that likes to rip their toys open or is overzealous or is a large jawed breed of dog then this isn’t the toy for your pet. The reason for this is because it has a voice box inside that makes the noise of an actual chimp, and this will obviously have batteries. Never ever leave your dog alone while they’re playing with it and if you have to leave the room then take it away and put it up out of the way so that they can’t get it, and never leave them home alone with it because it’s dangerous otherwise. Other than that your dog and you will have hours of fun with this toy and I hope you enjoyed the little video of Mojo playing with it and photos.

I have a GSD. From the reviews, I thought it would be hard wearing enough for him. However, within 30 mminutes Mr Chimp had a large bald patch on his head (had to sweep the floor). On investigating, I found its not proper fur fabric at all (like you buy when making a teddy bear). Its sort of flimsy guaze webbing with fur stuffed through the fibres).And I discovered why after half an hour, it wasn’t making chimp noises anymore. The chimp sound bits are enclosed in a very flimsy plastic box, about as much strength as a margarine tub. The whole thing was in bits. Not suitable for dogs with big jaws (like mine).So my dog loves it, played with it constantly.., for half an hour. Literally. Sewn the bald patch so it doesn’t show, but can’t make it make chimp sounds. Squeaker is still working though.It looks fabulous, but was very surprised to see the poor quality once you looked at the construction.UPDATE: I found the same chimp toy in Asda for a similar price. I felt for the chimp noise box..,it was smaller and more solid. The fur felt much more ‘glossy’. Ny dog has now played with this four days. It hasn’t developed any holes, no fur on the floor and the chimp sound is frequently heard as he kills it (several times a day).Much better quality.., I don’t know what thinkassemble.co.uk keeps in stock, but its not the same quality toy.

Acheté pour mon chien (JACK RUSSELL) pour remplacer son ancien singe qui poussait des cris, mais dont les piles se sont épuisées.Assez fragile, et mon chien a du mal à appuyer sur l’interrupteur où le bruit se trouve (situé sur la tête du singe).

Unser Hund liebt diesen Affen und auch nach täglichem spielen damit ist er nicht kaputt zu kriegen.Der Affe ist sehr robust, gut verarbeitet und das Affengeräusch ist der Knaller.Wir würden ihn wieder kaufen.Nachtrag:Nun ist der Affe schon ein Jahr alt und es ist noch nicht eine Naht aufgegangen ausser das ihm ein Auge fehlt ist er äußerlich noch wie am ersten Tag … naja wenn man die sabber spuren von unserem Hund übersieht ;).Leider funktionieren jetzt nach einem Jahr die Affenlaute nicht mehr .Trotzdem wird er nun wieder bestellt gerade wegen der Laute, unser Hund liebt ihn auch so und schleppt ihn noch täglich mit sich rum aber irgendwie fehlen nun genau diese Laute 🙂

meine hündin ist hingerissen, weil es quietsch- und affentöne gibt.verglichen mit anderen stofftieren für hunde ist der affe gut verarbeitet, robust und geht trotz intensiver beanspruchung nicht gleich kaputt.aber es kommt wohl auch auf den hund an.
