Needed a USB hub for a new work laptop that had fewer USB A connections on it but more USB C. This Hub handily gives me the USB A slots I need but can also keep the USB C slots too.It’s not too large so fits into my laptop backpack easily and doesn’t take up too much space on my desk. It works well for what I’ve needed to connect to it, no complaints from me.

In the bid to make laptops ever slimmer the choice of ports available really has take a hammering. These days it’s almost essential to have a hub handy.This one has a good range of ports. Two USB A (still surprisingly popular for peripherals, especially things like mice and headsets), two USB C, HDMI, Ethernet and a micro/full size SD card reader. This pretty much covers the popular peripherals from the last twenty years or so.The HDMI isn’t amazing, but it’ll let you watch video at 4K/30Hz (should be able to manage 1080P at 60Haz, but I didn’t test it) or do a bit of word processing where the refresh rate is even less important.The Ethernet connection is only 100Mbs. Gigabit would have been nice, but even 100Mbs is fine for most things though honestly these days your WiFi is probably quicker, the main advantage of Ethernet being latency and reliability.Overall a very handy tool to have in your computer drawer.
