I like music – I dislike digital music which, except for the convenience and portability aspect, is usually inferior to CDs and vinyl (CDs being better than vinyl in all ways that matter except for nostalgia). As a result I have several hundred CDs, a large proportion of which are organised using these storage units.In total, I have 18 of these CD storage units, all black.Each unit holds 20 standard sized CD cases – anything other than standard sized jewel cases (or the more modern cardboard equivalent) is not going to fit; that means some larger packaged double albums, multiple CD collections; special editions, book-like CDs etc will have to be stored elsewhere.Units arrive flat-packed and boxed. There are no instructions but they are not difficult to assemble – each part is stamped left/right /front/top etc as appropriate. Whilst they are sturdy once assembled, be careful how you put them together – the parts need to be pushed quite firmly until they click in to place *but* if you are overly aggressive, the plastic locking-tags can break, especially if not aligned properly.On the external faces, each storage unit has protrusions and corresponding depressions so that they can be stacked together; they also have holes for wall mounting. My units are all stacked in a cupboard but if they were stacked high and free standing, I would advise using the screw-holes for stability.In use, they are strong enough for the purpose for which they were designed. Moving a unit whilst full is however not advisable; CDs are not held locked in place, the grooves simply help align the cases and they can move around.In short they do the job for which they were designed; the advantage of using these units is as a space multiplier; I can now get three times as many CDs on each shelf than I would if I did not use the units. They are not cheap; but they do cost less than new shelving and they can be arranged to suit the space to hand.Recommended.

It holds standard CD Jewel Cases just fine and even has a bump-stop at the back so they don’t spill out, but putting it together is a bit of a faff to the point where I snapped one clip off immediately. I’d still happily buy another as it’s a good and compact way to store my revived physical media collection, but if the price goes up even a little bit I’d feel ripped off.

As per previous reviews, straight forward to assemble but for whatever reason the final push fit option is out of line and on both I had something snap off whilst having to exert additional force which then means they aren’t as tight as they should be, meaning the CD’s don’t sit square in the rack.

I should have sorted my CD’s years ago. An imminent house move and I’ve at last done so. These shelves are sturdy; they do stack snugly, but you’d want to secure them to the wall or surface behind if stacking, and there are two screw holes in each to facilitate this. I bought the cream and I wish that I’d bought the black as these would probably be less ‘in your face’ than the cream. As you can see from my poor photo, they are quite chunky and far from unobtrusive. They were not easy to clip together: reassuring in that they’re not going to collapse under the load of CD’s but very stiff. There are no instructions and I’d assembled one (I bought 5) before I realised that there are marks on the top and right hand side pieces to identify same. So do look carefully for these prior to assembly. Even with this essential knowledge, they are very tricky to get together – or was it just me? Finally value for money: I bought these because they were about the cheapest per CD stored on Think Assemble and they have done the job for me. So win win on both counts. I’m just not convinced that nearly £9 a pop is a fair price.

Stojak należy złożyć po zakupie, ale uwaga plastikowe zaczepy łączące są niezbyt kompatybilne i kruche ! Można złożyć stojak ale należy zachować dużą ostrożność i zwracać uwagę na opisy na plastikach TOP ze strzałkami (instrukcji brak). Zakupiłem dwa jeden połamany na zaczepach (musiałem kleić) drugi udało się złożyć bez pękniętych łączników.Sam stojak po złożeniu niezbyt stabilny (bez płyt).Generalnie jak na produkt Hama w tej cenie to nie jest źle ale nie powiedziałbym, że to produkt bardzo dobry.+ za otwory do przywieszenia stojaków do ściany.
