A recent purchase, I have tested the SOS and satellite comms features, as well as the ‘GPS navigation’ capabilities. Useable as a standalone and without registration, you’ll get much nore out of it when paired with the Garmin Explorer app. New entry-level InReach ‘Enabled’ service plan is a bonus too.So if like me you venture into areas without celluar coverage then this is a vital bit of kit-you’ll be happy never to use the SOS function but it could save your life.

Item was advertised as brand new though outside packaging was damaged and unit had obvious signs or usage. Last one in stock so reluctant to send it back.

A great product to keep you safe in inaccessible areas. Texting a little clunky but the big red button should get the chopper airborne if trouble occurs. Well worth carrying on a trip.

Am still testing and getting ready for Namibia Fish River 5-day Trail and so far pretty cool.Essential features are messaging, SOS, 10min tracking & 6-day battery life … so far looks fine !The only reason for 1 star less is the battery behaving strangely making me not confident yet that I can do the full hike with one charge. A couple of times I charged it to 100% and within minutes of unplugging it, it was at 95%. But then it drops very slowly for the next few days. Probably need some long hikes to give me a better sense of the charge used per day.

Testato per un anno. Non posso più farne a meno perché facendo escursioni in solitaria è diventato fondamentale. Anche solamente il senso di sicurezza in più che mi dà vale la spesa. Per il pacchetto dati ho attivato il servizio tramite il sito Protegear il quale permette di pagare solamente l’utilizzo effettivo del servizio. La batteria dura tantissimo, il dispositivo è molto piccolo quindi leggero e facile da trasportare. Un po’ macchinosa l’attivazione tramite Protegear. Consigliatissimo
