Takes a little getting used too. Make sure it’s secured tightly because you need to press the side controls and it moves otherwise. Lots of information and links to Strava. I don’t go anywhere without it and i also have the varia rear light which links to it easily

This is a good quality product which I bought for the navigation function and reported battery life. At first, I found the menus quite confusing, however now I have used it a few times I can find my way around the various functions. The battery life is excellent, I can use the garmin for a 7 or 8 hour ride, and still have 70 to 80% left in the battery. It syncs well with the garmin connect app, and down loading courses is straight forward. A major downside is that there is no facility to reverse navigation of a course or route. So if you cycle a linear course and want to come back the same way, you will have to reverse the route in whatever software you originally mapped it in, and download this as a separate course or route. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Fabulous cycling computer. It’s the version without the touch screen – I really wanted the touch screen one but couldn’t justify the additional cost, but I’m so glad I went with this one. Controlling it via the buttons is fine, all the setup (which would be fiddly without a touch screen) can easily and quickly be done via the Garmin Connect iPhone app. For me, it’s better NOT to have the touch screen when on the bike and just use the buttons. I find the button control intuitive and easy. It does take some time to figure out how to use it, but there are lots of videos online showing you how to do that. As you get in to it, you quickly discover it’s a great little device, brilliant. Very pleased.

Bought this for gps functionality on mountain bike I would return if I could it’s not a gps it’s a fancy bike computer with mapping added . The most difficult aspect is loading routes and then trying to follow only a small arrow and map which is not easy to see and can’t be enlarged so difficult . Off-road is impossible not OS mapping – try to use before buying it’s not for everyone so complex . Probably excellent for some

Die Akkulaufzeit des Garmin Edge 540 überzeugt auf ganzer Linie, selbst längere Touren meistert das Gerät problemlos. Auch der Funktionsumfang und die insgesamt sehr hochwertige Verarbeitung lassen keine Wünsche offen. Das Display bietet eine angenehm große Fläche, sodass die Navigation jederzeit klar und gut ablesbar bleibt. Die Bedienung über die Tasten geht schnell in Fleisch und Blut über und erweist sich besonders beim Fahren mit Handschuhen als äußerst praktisch. Insgesamt ein zuverlässiger Begleiter für jede Radtour.
