Forest Garden Woodbury Log Cabin
Incredibly accurate machining meant the cabin went up with no fuss by my wife and myself (the foundation was completely flat and level). Took the time to unpack and organise all the various timbers, (which are marked) before assembly. The roof shingles took time but look very good. The windows and doors are high quality, double glazed and come as a unit to simply put in place during the assembly. I insulated the roof and used additional tanalised bearers to make room for floor insulation. Forest garden were very accomodating with delivery and the delivery driver was excellent. I had the packs in the front garden and unpacked then walked all the individual bits round the back.

Great size, solid walls, I wish it was treated
I went for this model because of the size of it and the thickness of the ‘logs’. Not disappointed about those. What I am disappointed with is that some of the fixings were missing. I had to go midway through the building process to by nails and screws of certain types and sizes. Not ideal when you have hired people to work for you and you are paying them to wait for screws. And am talking about hundreds of fixings. iFor the price you pay you should get extra fixings not less. thinkassemble.co.uk did offer to refund the amount spent on fixings, but what’s £40-45 when you paid 5.6k? Didn’t bother.
Also I would never buy again a garden structure from untreated wood. I bought very good wood stain, but you can’t match the treatment made commercially.
Overal wouldn’t do it again.

Forest Garden ‘Woodbury’ Log Cabin 7m x 4m
The quality of this product is excellent.
I prepared a 150mm reinforced concrete base with DPM which must be level, pre delivery. Also installed drainage around the base. Have done the belts and braces and included a DPC under the base timbers, added underfloor insulation and changed the roof profile to accept insulation, a breathable membrane and guttering. I have sealed the perimeter of the base to prevent any water ingress. Looking forward to using it as my studio.

Very solid and well designed cabin
This is an excellent product and was assembled by 3 men in a day. The timber is very solid and slots together well. The instructions were not that clear so a lot of the assembly was trial and error but it went together okay. I would recommend using felt under the shingles for extra waterproofing, and I cannot emphasise how important it is to have a level base to build off.

Very good quality built easily by myself and a friend in two days took longer to complete the floor and interior trims, the only thing that should be improved is the assembly instructions, but once you start building it becomes clear

Love this cabin – be aware of the aftercare!
Very happy with the size and quality of this product. We added electricity, insulation (to floor & roof) and laminate flooring. The finished cabin provides excellent additional living space for the family. Be aware that actual delivery from Forest Garden may take a longer than the lead time stated on the thinkassemble.co.uk website as I believe there may be a backlog of orders versus imports. Overall I am very happy with this product, especially at that price point. The only reason I drop a star is because of the amount of additional work that is required once the cabin is delivered. Building is one thing, but then you also need two coats of wood preserver, 2 coats of weather treatment, sealant around doors and windows, electrics & laminate (optional). Maybe I was naive, its a massive surface area to paint 4 times inside and out. Just be aware of that. I will say though that the finished article is impressive and will give us joy for many years.

Woodbury cabin
Fantastic quality. One of a our builders put it up. We’ve had to shave the door a bit with the hot weather warping it a little. All our neighbours comment on it and ask where it’s from. The porch really makes it. Great product would definitely recommend or buy again.

Disaster do NOT buy as payment in advance means thinkassemble.co.uk and supplier don’t care. Delivered with a piece of cheap pine missing which they want me to wait six weeks for. Builders offered to do it in five mins. thinkassemble.co.uk useless and just repeat what supplier said. It’s a piece of wood not some unique part. D not buy from these people as they won’t even pick it up despite being faulty which is a legal right.

Delivered on time, got my own builders to put together they thought it was well made. Some of the long planks were slightly bowed and needed sanding but altogether was pleased with my purchase. Did take time to seal 4 coats inside and out but knew this was not pre treatment from other comments. Thicker than most log cabins windows and doors good. Would buy again.

Great cabin poor manufacturer
What’s great: delivery, instructions, cabin build quality.
What’s not great: packaging as floor base screws are at the tip as first thing to do, the required screws are in a box at the bottom. Forest gardens (the maker) I called them about the screws and first time they advised you don’t get them, called again as instructions listed them to be told yes you do and there in a box in one of the three packages so your expected to open all three.
As I now didn’t know if screws did exist or if they did where I purchased the screws for £40 to find at the very end of build in final packige a box of screws.

Fantastic home office purchase
Purchased for use as a home office. Initially I was concerned as it took a month after payment was made for the manufacturer to contact me. I have since found out their cabins are incredibly popular, so no issue with that aspect.
The cabin was delivered and erected on the same day in October 22. The two very professional installers did most of the work on the first day, with finishing off the following morning.
I have to say I cannot fault the cabin. It’s huge but the design is exceptional and everything slots together perfectly. I have had a electric Mill heater installed (also purchased from thinkassemble.co.uk) which keeps it warm and is compatible with Alexa, so I can control it remotely.
I would recommend if you are purchasing that you install a new floor, as it can get a bit drafty. Also installing 100mm insulation is imperative if you want to use it in cold weather.
In summary I am delighted with it and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone considering purchasing.

Dream Garden Office
Purchased this as a garden office for my business. Went for the largest size available. This is a substantial cabin and I was a bit worried at first that I may have taken on something too big but in the end it has been so worth it!
For anyone attempting to take on this build themselves like I have done with my partner please bear in mind the back wall logs and beams are cut out of one piece of timber and are 7 meters in length. So this really is a two person job. As far as the build is concerned the base and prep was the hardest part. Once you get this right the outer shell was built up in a couple of days. The finishing takes somewhat longer but then I am a bit of a perfectionist!
I always dreamed of building my own cabin and would say I am a fairly competent DIY’er. So if you fit in to this category then I would say go for it! I have also learnt so much along the way and it is great to have that understanding of how every element of the build is put together and works! That way I know it has been done properly. I am also able to make future adjustments or even take it down if and rebuild if I moved house and wanted to take it with me!
It is worth noting the thickness of the logs on this is 58mm so it really is quite substantial. I also opted to add 50mm cellotex insulation which I fitted in to the floor frame and also on top of the roof. I also had an electrician fit it with its own separate supply for sockets and lighting and have purchased a couple of wall mounted heaters by Dimplex also from thinkassemble.co.uk. So I know it will be cosy and very much suitable for all year round use. Very nice quality. Instructions were a bit general and I think they could be improved for this particular model, but I found lots of great videos on youtube and you will find with these cabins that they are generally put together in much the same way.
Excited that I will finally be able to move my business out of the house and have also gained so much extra space both in the house and in in my new cabin!
