Just picked up the Fender Mustang Micro Plus a few days back and honestly, I’m proper happy with this little beauty. The sound quality is absolutely spot on, crisp and clear with surprisingly authentic amp models that range from lovely clean tones to proper heavy distortion that actually sounds convincing through headphones. I needed something for silent practice at home and when I’m travelling, and this tiny device has smashed all my expectations. The effects are genuinely studio quality, the Bluetooth works a treat for jamming along to tracks, battery lasts ages, and despite being featherlight, it feels properly solid and well made. The USB-C connection is dead handy. For what you pay, you’re getting professional level tone and flexibility that would normally cost you thousands with traditional kit. I’m still in the early days with it, but being able to practice anywhere with genuinely great sound has already changed how I approach my daily routine. Absolute winner for any guitarist who wants quality without the faff of lugging proper amps about!

Like many, I was guilty of all the gear and no idea. Expensive amps which I could only play at volume 2… tab books piled higher than the eiffel tower, guitar picks aplenty and an insatiable desire to play the Royal Albert Hall by next Christmas. There was nothing holding me back. Except the ability to play guitar. Yep, thousands spent and I couldn’t play a song beginning to end if my life depended on it. The intro to sweet home alabama? You got it! The nothing else matters solo? No problem! Bit of noodling in the A minor pentatonic so long as there’s no backing track to monitor timing and chord changes? I’m yer man! For piecemeal playing perfection- I was the boy to book!I came across the micro amp whilst indulging my favourite past time (googling guitar stuff rather than practising or playing) and it gave me an idea. What I was lacking was a SYSTEM. Let’s be honest we see it everyday. Crossfit, hyrox, atkins, calories counting – they’re all just a SYSTEM to use to get results. It hit me – I had no system to learn guitar. I’d tried lessons but no guitar teacher is a miracle worker and I lost interest fast because none of it made sense. I didn’t know a dominant 7th from a doormat and to be honest I just didn’t care. I wanted to play my favourite tunes and enjoy it. I get enough stress from real work let alone allowing my hobbies to add to it!It didn’t take long to set the micro amp up. Great Job. Quick charge, throw in some headphones… gift. The sound quality is quite exceptional for a lil device this size and easy to play with and adjust. They’ve got it bang on the money. In time maybe they’ll have something you can modify tones with on a phone app? But for now… she’s 80 quid well spent.HALF THE SYSTEM IN THE BAG.Now where this wee amp really comes into its own is the Bluetooth connectivity. I paired my phone with it and downloaded an app called music speed changer (no endorsements or sponsorship fyi so im sure there’s plenty others this is just the one I have) .With the ability to slow down, loop, pitch shift (hendrix is in E flat and I ain’t detuning) the second half of the system is complete. What a godsend it’s been. My usual way is to learn 2 or 3 bars at a time, then another two or 3 bars… each time looping from the very beginning so pretty quickly what I have already learnt is almost boring to play because it falls under my fingers so easily. Repetition Repetition Repetition. Pretty soon you’re breezing through parts you struggled with. It’s an incredible feeling.I have friends who use yamaha thr amps to do something similar but it’s a lot of cables and extra bits n pieces. The entire set up I use I’ve included in the two pics. My trusty vintage ii reissue, the micro amp and a pair of headphones. The screenshot is from the app and the song I’m learning at the minute.A natural I am not, but this has been revolutionary for me teaching myself some of the songs that inspired me to pick up a guitar in the first place. There’s not too many folk round my way playing so it’s a great hobby and one that has became ever so enjoyable now I’ve found what works for me.Hopefully this helps and it works for you too! 🙂

in a similar style write a 5 star review for a fender Mustang micro guitar headphone ampGiving this Fender Mustang Micro a full 5 stars. As a mid-twenties guy who wants to noodle around on guitar without waking the house, this little headphone amp is an absolute game-changer.The sounds are insanely good for something so tiny – loads of killer presets from clean to high-gain, plus effects like reverb, delay, and modulation that make it feel like a proper rig. Plug in your guitar and headphones, tweak a couple of knobs, and you’re jamming riffs or practicing solos that sound huge. It’s super portable too – clips right onto your guitar strap or belt, runs forever on batteries, and connects easily to phones for apps or recording. No setup hassle, just instant tone wherever you are, whether that’s bedtime practice or on the go.The build feels solid, the controls are intuitive, and the USB charging is a nice touch. If you want pro-level amp modelling in your pocket that actually gets you playing more, this is one of those buys you wonder how you managed without.

Is amazing soumd and ease of useI droped it down from 5 to 4 star as guitar tuner not working now as button stuck down.

Awesome bit of kit.I’m imagining my inner 90s kid being blown away by this being even 1/20th what this is capable of.It’s not going to match a premium amp and speaker setup, but if you think of it as a practice amp you can fit in your pocket it’s brilliant.Loads of effects, loads of customisation. Pretty accurate recreation of classic amp sounds too.Can record onto your phone with minimal effort, play backing tracks from your phone to play along to and connect to a computer.Obviously if your a pro there’s better options, but for just playing at home or playing in a hotel room it’s brilliant.Only negatives are that it doesn’t work with Bluetooth headphones and it’s a little easy to knock the volume knob when playing sitting down (depending on your guitar jack location).

Buy it. It’s a no-brainer.
Excellent little case for the mustang micro. For those folks complaining about the price of the case… Are you serious? The micro’s a $170 pocket amp, and you’re complaining about spending $25 to protect that investment? This is a no-brainer. Seriously.- Solid “hardshell” style case, it’s nice and rigid on the corners, definitely will protect the micro from bumps/drops.- Good amount of storage.- Nice little velcro strap to hold the micro in place as you open the case.Yes, the zipper is fairly stiff. But still — do you WANT your case to open easily? I don’t.10/10 would buy again.
