Epson makes great inks. In the past I have used “other” inks and have been disappointed with the results. I don’t print very often so for me it is important that the ink does not dry on the printhead. When used in accordance with Epson’s instructions for both ink and printer then these inks will not dry on the printhead, even if you only print the occasional page once a month or so.

I’ve been using Epson printer ink for quite some time, and it has its pros and cons. On the positive side, the print quality is generally excellent. The colors are vibrant, and text is sharp, making it perfect for both documents and photos.Another advantage is the wide range of ink options available to suit various printing needs. Whether you require standard black ink for text documents or specialized color cartridges for high-quality photo printing, Epson offers a comprehensive selection. However, one drawback I’ve encountered is the cost. Epson ink cartridges tend to be on the pricier side compared to some third-party alternatives. This can add up over time, especially if you print frequently.Furthermore, while Epson inks are known for their quality, they can sometimes clog the printhead if the printer is left unused for an extended period. This issue can result in wasted ink and frustrating maintenance. In conclusion, Epson printer ink offers excellent print quality and a wide range of options but may be a bit costly compared to other alternatives. If print quality is your top priority and you’re willing to invest, it’s a solid choice. However, if you’re looking for more budget-friendly options, you might explore third-party ink cartridges, keeping in mind that they might not match Epson’s quality consistently.

These are genuine Epson ink cartridges. Very easy to fit and the print quality is very good. I maybe print 3-4 A4 pages in a week and found that the cartridges lasted for about six months. As with all branded ink cartridges they do tend to be expensive. You cannot go wrong with the quality but I do not think we are getting value for money.

Difficult to fully review as ended up returning this item to amazon for a refund as it was bought as a replacement to use in a newly purchased epson xp-4200. Reading other customer reviews indications were that the 4 part-filled configuration cartridges that came with the printer had little ink in them and ran out really quickly. Therefore, got these to be onhand just in case that happened. Sadly the printer had to be returned to amazon for refund as it would not recognise all the configuration cartridges that came in the box for printer set up. As a back-up this new set was inserted, but they would all not be recognised either. 2 sets of cartridges from different sources deduced it was the actual printer at fault and not the cartridges.Ordered the same model Epson xp-4200 from another well known store along with the same set of cartridges. The new configuration cartridges worked and due to no set up issues there is still ink in them with no need to use the additional replacement set just yet.Aside of the return and reorder of both the printer and cartridges, these genuine Epson cartridges appear to fit easily following printer instruction. Instructions say they click in but no obvious click sound but still fit in correctly. Only time will tell how long the ink lasts in this full size replacement set.Details indicate 150 b/w and 130 colour copies, which isn’t a lot. Then I understand the b/w printing is mixed from the colours too ???? I will be doing occasional printing with not much need for colour. Would expect printing mostly colour, I.e photos, the printer will drink up the ink cartridges and require regular change and be expensive.Epson do a 604XL replacement cartridge which is more expensive per set than this one, but reading the small print the only XL cartridge in the XL pack is the black one, all the colour cartridges are the same size as this standard pack. Not sure I’d buy the XL size for only 1 larger size cartridge in it. I’ll stick with this standard pack and see how it goes for the foreseeable future.Printer compatibility, well, there were some issues with the returned printer that was causing compatibility, but the replacement printer has none of those issues and working well on my xp-4200. Like many, I feel that all genuine ink cartridges, regardless of printer brand, are overpriced and there are many generic cartridges out there to be taken. However, I used generic cartridges in my old printer, some worked, some didn’t (wasted money), Then Epson decided it wasn’t going to display the ink levels for generic cartridges so I never knew which cartridge was low or run out. Downloading the Epson app to my phone and laptop control my printer I have 2 views and can clearly see ink levels. As an infrequent/low user of a printer, I am one of many who would not benefit from signing up for Advantage+ monthly subscription for automatic replacement cartridges though may work for others.
