I bought this on Prime day as it was 55% off and i had a 25% off voucher as well so got it for £30 in the end.It looks lovely from the outside and daughter was very impressed with the outer space theme.Setup was a bit problematic. First time it stalled part way through and i had to start again and when the device was setup it wasn’t performing as it should so i did a factory reset and tried again and it seemed to go through OK this time.The power chord is something to look out for as the first couple of times i put the chord in it popped back out again which was frustrating when trying to move the device. It felt like it was connected properly but you have to give it a bit of a push in so it clicks into place.The screen is vibrant and bright when watching content from Prime Video. Sound is fine for me but if you are an audiophile you may not agree.It acts fantastic as a night stand clock and unlike my 1st gen device it does react to the light in the room so on a night its isn’t too bright but its bright enough to see the time.It responds well to voice prompts.Performance wise i still feel it is a bit sluggish. When opening prime video you just want it to open a little bit quicker and when you ask it to go home it seems to take a while to do it.There’s also been a few times when the home screen has gone blank as if its waiting to do something when i have come out of an app.Hopefully these little niggles can be sorted out via updates but this is the first device where i have had issues setting it up and the process has failed having to start again.For £30 it was a no brainer to have the latest version. I’d not want to spend full price on it though.

Initially struggled to complete the set up (one other review mentioned having same issue also), it kept saying that Think Assemble Kids+ is not available in my country (I’m UK based for ref). After almost a whole day of chatting with customer service they have eventually managed to fix this. Moreover, little did I know that this was only a small issue apparently! I have spent the next 3 days talking with customer service since none of the skills that I wanted to add for my child worked! They have made me restart the device a billion times and keep refreshing my Alexa app and all sorts of things! After nothing worked I’ve been told most likely the device is faulty, so they replaced it. And guess what? Yep, same issue again with the replaced device! So after spending another day trying to get the skills to work on it, customer service has concluded that it’s most likely the issue with the skills themselves and not the device, meaning they have not been developed well to function on this device. So I eventually wasted almost a week with this and achieved absolutely nothing, moreover my child was really upset as was looking forward to having some fun with Think Assemble Kids+. I ofcourse ended up returning this device which is absolutely useless!P.S.: Think Assemble Customer Service has assured me that they have logged the issue of the skills not working and their technical team will look into this and get back to me within 72hrs. It’s now been almost 2 weeks, no one bothered responding!
