Good basic vacuum cleaner, so-so battery life
Really good basic vacuum cleaner. Hoovers up everything on carpeted and hard floors without missing a beat. Much easier to use than our full sized Dyson upright and makes cleaning the stairs a breeze. Battery life is a bit poor by modern standards and it takes a long time to charge but the convenience of being cordless makes up for it.

Great vacuum, dust I didn’t know existed has been pulled out the carpet. There was a lot of sawdust deep in the carpet which had been causing an allergic reaction for me and no more, great!
The only issue is that it has a bit of trouble picking up large debris, not for lack of suction but just the design of the head. That being said, it is very easy to adjust the placement of the vacuum to pick up the debris, just not extremely seamless but completely manageable, so still 5 stars.

Cleans well and no hair entanglement.
I am very pleased with my purchase. I already have a V6 but the battery doesn’t last long. I bought this one because of the great deal at thinkassemble.co.uk. The battery lasts much longer and the motor is more powerful, quieter and smoother. The best part is that hair does not get tangled in the brushes but goes straight to the bin. Emptying is different but seems a bit easier once you get the hang of it. Overall, it is a sturdy machine and I would certainly recommend it.

Many improvements over previous models
Finally after 11 years of buying replacement batteries and parts for our Dyson V6 it died.
Time to buy a new rechargeable vacuum to supplement our heavy mains Miele machine.
There are many much need improvements on the V8 over the old V6 model.
Emptying of the dust container is now a doddle. No faffing around trying to disconnect the dust collector from the motor body and put it back on. Just pull the red tab on the body up over a bin, its how it should have been on the V6 model. The batteries seem to last much longer, its much quieter, more powerful with a proper visible sliding speed selector switch.The same range of tools are included; a crevice nozzle an upholstery brush plus a powered floor brush. Mains charger and wall mount are supplied.
On the downside its slightly heavier, but still just as easy to use on a daily basis.
I looked at other comparable models on the market and decided to choose the Dyson because the spare parts are easily available. Our previous model had been very reliable apart from items replaced due to general wear and tear. Nothing last for ever used almost daily.
Most importantly it was on offer at thinkassemble.co.uk and slightly cheaper than thinkassemble.co.uk and AO.

Good lightweight stick vacuum
Bought this as a 2nd vacuum for upstairs, especially the bathroom & stairs, to save carrying heavy vacuum up & down. Very handy, especially for bathroom, however when using on carpets on full power the battery probably lasted about 10 – 15 minutes, so consequently I didn’t manage to finish vacuuming the stairs. Still, it does more or less what we bought it for – it is light and picks up very well.

Great cleaner for all surfaces
I’ve had a cordless Dyson for 10 years. Noticed the performance was starting to deteriorate now but I’ve been extremely happy with it over the years. Decided to buy this newer model (at a great reduced price with £115 off). There have been some great improvements over on this model – no hair gets trapped in the barrel, 3 charging lights means easier to see how much charge is left, easier emptying etc. So glad I’ve upgraded; we’ve kept the old model to clean the cars. Would definitely recommend.

As per the title, it is a good machine but not great. I would have given 5 stars but
– big difference between low and high power and no intermediate setting. Battery life is poor on high power, yet low power feels too weak.
– I’m not tall but the tube length is one-size-fits all with no adjustment possible for tall or small people. I find this a pain, even for storage where some telescopic ability would be really helpful in a small flat.

A Vacuum Cleaner which really sucks!
This is a really good vacuum cleaner for its size and weight. The main cleaning head has a rotating brush which seeks to really lift the dirt and dust from carpets but also handles wooden floors without any problems. The smaller tools are a useful add-on and allow cleaning in restricted spaces – really useful for cleaning the stairs or in the car! When fully charged we are getting 30-35 minutes of cleaning in the surprisingly quiet “normal” mode which is easily enough to do the ground floor. Turning on “turbo” increases the suction level and really does lift fine embedded dust from carpets but increases battery drain considerably so we only use it where it is really needed – which is not a lot as the normal mode cleans very well.
Unlike our old (cable) vacuum cleaner the V8 stick is much easier to control and can access under the sofa and in tight corners easily, but the extra weight in your hands is noticeable after 15 minutes or so use. As a result we now tend to vacuum more regularly than before but limit our time to around 10-15 minutes of cleaning. Given the ease of set-up and putting away the V8, compared to our old cleaner, is a pleasure to use and makes a quick clean of one room easy to do. Overall, the house is much cleaner than before and the amount of fine dust has been dramatically reduced.
We originally bought the V8 to deal with spills and cleaning the care etc but given its excellent cleaning are now considering getting rid of our cabled vacuum completely.
The downside of the V8 is its relatively small dust capacity which (combined with its very effective cleaning power) means it needs emptying regularly. Fortunately, it is easy to empty ….. but watch out for the very fine dust that can be released at the same time.
Overall, a good purchase from our perspective at an affordable price. Thanks CostCo.
