Clothes come out noticeably fresher, and the lavender scent is present but restrained, fading to a clean smell rather than clinging perfume. I have not observed any stiffness or fading over repeated use, even on darker items. The main limitation is that it offers no stain removal on its own, so it must be paired with a proper detergent. Purchased this thinking it was a washing detergent but just didn’t read the description properly. Either way – it’s really good. I use as an additive to my washes, particularly my work clothes (I work in a hospital), gym clothes and dog stuff. It’s nice to know that everything comes out of the wash sanatized
