Used it on a Sony X-AV5650 head unit and works exceptionally well. It has rebooted a couple of times during a call, but as I run beta versions on my iPhone I will not judge it adversely as I cannot speculate this would have happened on a public released of iOS.Connection time is a little lengthy 25-30 seconds from ignition but to be honest it’s not really bothered me. Responsive time on music change and button presses has a marginally second or so delay but certainly doesn’t cause issue.The music quality seems to be as good as I expect. Nice and clear, good bass and no lag or distortion.Maps seems to run smoothly, I haven’t had any delay in map movement or guidance issues.Lastly the web address for viewing the device is a wonderful idea! I can monitor what’s going on and perform any updates. I added a car logo and named the make and model and it created an app icon in CarPlay display, but if I press it then it quits CarPlay, so a little unsure of its purpose!Overall I am more than impressed. All reviews suggest it should be used on manufacturers head units so I was a little unsure if it would work with an aftermarket head unit, but rest assured it works perfectly!Wireless CarPlay made painless and effective in a little box!

Great product when it actually works. Keeps disconnecting at least once or twice a week having it mounted on top of car tray so it’s out the way meaning it’s an absolute nightmare to unplug and reconnect. If I wasn’t out of the return date would have returned

Works exactly the same as the wired Android Auto does in my 2020 Mercedes C Class, but without wires.It does mean as soon as the car’s unlocked my phone connects to the device (even if the car isn’t started) which can be a little annoying as it constantly tried to launch Android Auto.But it now means I can use my warp charger for my phone rather than relying on low voltage charging from the android auto port.

I wasn’t too sure who well these after market adapters work as I’d not used one before but this had some good reviews which were well founded.Easy to set up and once connected in to the USB the iPhone connects fairly quickly once you turn the ignition on.

I am extremely happy to leave positive feedback, I used other wireless CarPlays with my Audi Q7 and they always had issues with the GPS position, with this Carlinkit 5.0 there is an option to use the car’s GPS which is more accurate! Very fast connection!!! Highly recommended to everyone!!!

Tried all the suggested troubleshooting steps but connection was always unreliable, takes ages or slow to get going.Now, 3 months later, the other day it froze my car screen with Android auto, so bad, I had to disconnect my car battery for 40 minutes to reset my head unit. And it refused to open CarPlay or AA ever since.Edit…. After three days of trying everything it turns out the cable that comes with the unit has failed. Possibly because of all the times I had to disconnect and reconnect the device to get it to connect but maybe because it was faulty all the time anyway.I had tried other cables that wired AA worked okay with but not on this device. I eventually bought some more cables and one of them actually now makes it work, it’s an expensive official Google usb a to c cable but now my device is back to connecting entry time.Manufacturer needs to supply better quality cables with these units or they’re going to end up with lots of bad reviews.

Nicely presented product but not compatible with Volvo’s Google car operating system.Unable to play audio from Apple Music, Audible, Think Assemble Music or any other audio playing in my iPhone. I update the carlink to latest firmware and followed the limited suggestions in FAQ section of manufactures site; again same problem continued.Followed Think Assemble’s advice when starting my return to contact customer service for Carlink – appalling response and promised support that never materialised. Further I would be dubious of the implied manufactures warranty and after sales service. Remember ‘Caveat emptor’ – avoid, certainly if you drive a Volvo manufactured after 2022.
