Amazing to see wildlife so close up – but not sure the box is fit for UK weather – paint has started to peal on top already. Would be great to have a purpose built cage to stop the larger birds like pigeons – I managed to put something together which has allowed starlings , and smaller birds to continue feeding without pigeons dominating the roost!

I recently purchased the Bamboo Birdfy Kit, and I’m already impressed! Although I haven’t set it up outside yet due to Scotland’s cold and wet winter weather, I took it out of the box to check it over and was blown away by the quality. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the bamboo design is not only stylish but also environmentally friendly.
I love that it’s solar-powered, and I’m excited to put it out in the spring when the weather improves. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making this both functional and durable. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I’d highly recommend it to any bird enthusiast!

Great little smart bird feeder
This feeder has a great 3L capacity, the solar panel charging makes it totally self sufficient. The Birdfy camera gets great footage and the subscription automatic bird identification feature on the whole in my experience so far is pretty accurate for UK bird species and means you can just filter notification for rarer bird species as they turn up. I have issues with squirrels in my garden so mounted on a pole with a squirrel baffle (bought separately). thinkassemble.co.uk delivery was very quick, it arrived within days.

A fantastic sustainable Bird feeder and camera
Bird feeder is fantastic. We had the original plastic Birdfy feeder and jumped on the chance to get the Bamboo feeder. The feeder is heavy, clearly real and high quality certified bamboo.
Installation was relatively easy, we decided on a wall mount but there were other options available (include pole mounting options). When mounted, at least for the wall mount, it’s still easy to remove for cleaning or maintenance.
The camera seems to be an upgrade over the plastic Birdfy, so there seems to have been improvements here.
Set up was relatively easy, you turn it on, set up the app on your phone, then show the camera a QR code and it connects and does the rest.
The in-built solar panel was fiddly, the included washer didn’t seem to fit no matter how we tried. However, we got away without using it. The solar panel doesn’t seem enough to sustain the feeder, although this could either be the really bad winter weather in Scotland right now, or we haven’t picked the best place for it.
And the final review of course is do the wildlife love it. And the answer is yes. We’ve had robins, wood pigeons, a mixture of t!ts and other birds (dunnocks and house sparrow). Of course, the occasional squirrel visitor too. The app actually notifies you seperately of squirrels, so you can scare them off if you like (an automatic option to do this may be good for some?) but I have enough feed also for the squirrels, and they are also fun to watch.

Fabulous bird feeder
Fabulous bird feeder. Sturdy and looks good too, easy to fill with bird food, and can use 2 different mixes of seed due to having 2 compartments. So far I’ve attracted bluetits, goldfinches, sparrows and robins. Camera is very good, much clearer and sharper than my previous Birdfy feeders. I just need to figure out how to stop the squirrels pinching the food now. All in all, a very good bird feeder, very well made, strong and sturdy, and pleasing to the eye.

Stunning feeder approved by the birds
The box is stunning, and the birds seem to agree. It has a solid wood/metal construction and holds plenty of mealworms and almonds in its two compartments for the birds to enjoy. The camera is great as well – it’s a standard Birdfy camera. The app works well but sometimes struggles with connection.
My only concerns are how well it will hold up to the weather, and I would have preferred if it had SD card support like some other models.

5* Watching birds is addictive!
This is a birdfeeder I have been looking for for many years, but I guess the technology just wasn’t around!! Easy to put together and easy to mount. With use of the App and QR code, setting up was a cinch! Started using this at the end of January and I didnt hold out much hope for the solar panel to keep the camera charged, but to my surprise, it kept the charge surprisingly well.
The App is very intuitive and does surprisingly well at bird recognition. When it does get it wrong, it’s easy enough to edit and state the correct bird. Thoroughly impressed, and well worth the money!

This is my 2nd Birdfy product (first one was given as a gift) but have to say that this is the smartest looking feeder of the 2 as aesthetically it blends in with the surroundings, it was easy to assemble and set up, it really wowed as soon as I took it out of the box. I have mounted the supplied bracket with 4 screws directly onto a fence post and the bracket on the back of the feeder just slots straight over, it comes with a solar panel in the box which so far, even through this gloomy British weather, is keeping it fully charged, it has also remained intact through the horrendous weather we’ve just had. I had it unpacked, set up, mounted in about 20 minutes. My first visitor was my Robin the very next morning followed by the Blackbird which is usually a bottom feeder, he has never been on the other but loves this one.
It has two large, separate sections for food so you can put different seed mixes in. The camera quality is great and it captures all of the visitors which you can view through the app, you can also live view including night vision, you can speak through the mic, the bottom tray can be removed for easy cleaning. It has already given me hours of pleasure, if you love your bird watching then you’ll love this or it would be great if you’re looking for a special gift. I was showing the footage to some friends last night and they were amazed at the concept and quality. Between my 2 feeders I can pretty much see around the whole of the front of my house which is an added bonus for security.

Great item for bird lovers
We already have a number of items from BirdFly, and we bought this to replace an old feeder. So far we are very impressed: the feeder holds a large amount of seed and is easy to operate. The solar panel is dead handy to avoid the need to constantly recharge the camera. The camera is decent and is motion sensitive so picks up the birds that come to visit our feeder. The camera only collects one video and one photo per bird, which is fine. There are more expensive camera feeders which do more, but for the price this is perfectly good. Would recommend this product.

Brilliant Bird Feeder
This is my second Birdfy bird feeder and I love it more than my first one! The picture quality is excellent. Myself and the children enjoy watching the different birds up close and it can be amusing to see a bird staring directly at the camera! The only downside is if you have a busy garden the app notifications drain your phone battery. If you enjoy birds visiting your garden then I would highly recommend one of these feeders so you can watch them up close.

Excellent quality feeder with a camera
Overall, this is a great addition to anyone’s garden.
The build quality is excellent. The wood is nice and sturdy with separate feed compartments either side of the camera so you can fill it with two different types of food. The feed falls onto a mesh tray so water doesn’t build up and there’s even an additional perch to add on to make it a bit bigger. The camera quality is excellent and fits at a perfect position to get a good view of the birds. While the solar panel is only small, it keeps the camera charged, even on gloomy days. It’s battery hasn’t gone below 99% and that’s with the highest sensitivity setting. It is also very easy to install, in fact I managed to do it by myself, in the dark with just the torch on my phone. It comes with fittings to attach it to a wall (brick or wood), to a pole or to a tree so there’s plenty of options.
I have noticed that the black paint on the roof part has chipped away already. It isn’t much of an issue for me as it’s only cosmetic and the build itself it’s lovely and modern, but I would understand if that was a problem for others. Also, as the camera is housed inside the feeder, it’s WiFi signal isn’t the best. It does have an antenna to help but I have had to use a WiFi booster otherwise I was unable to get a live view. It still recorded footage to the cloud (or an SD card which fits directly in the camera) and I could view them fine. Just for some reason, if the WiFi signal is poor, you cannot view it live. I have another bird camera from this company that’s even further down my garden but isn’t housed in anything and just faces my bird feeders and that works fine, which is why I am assuming that the feeder itself slightly affects the WiFi signal. I have attached the extended bird perch to allow more birds to come to the feeder but the extended perch itself seems to be made out of a different type of wood so I’m not sure how well it will hold up to the weather and rot.
All in all, I am amazed at the quality of both the materials/build/style of the bird feeder and the camera itself and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially at this price. However, future buyers would just have to consider the WiFi strength when installing.

I bought this Smart Bird Feeder as a birthday gift for a family member last time, and they absolutely loved it! I recently spotted it at an even better price on thinkassemble.co.uk, so I had to grab another one as a Christmas gift for my mum to pop in the garden. I know my daughter will be thrilled too, as she loves spending afternoons with her granny in the garden. Now, they can chill on the sofa at home or even while traveling and watch all the new feathered friends visiting the backyard from the feeder! Highly recommend!

Solid feeder with good quality camera.
This is our second Birdfy feeder. The first is plastic and, whilst we like it, it is not very pretty. This bamboo feeder has the same functionality but is nicer looking and made of more sustainable materials. Within 30 minutes of hanging we had our first visitor. The camera quality is very good. We hung it further from the house than we would have liked, but it still gets a wifi signal.
The only cons are that it is rather heavy and I am worried about how it will stand up to British weather. It was slightly complicated to put together but we got there.
Overall it is a well made, quality product.

Great feeder and easy to use
I was after an easy to use bird feeder with camera which was easy to use and which didn’t require a monthly subscription and this one seemed to fit the bill (pun intended).
Straight out the box you can tell it’s a premium product and it feels solid.
It comes with various straps and screws for different mounting options.
Setting up the camera is very easy and is no more difficult than setting up any other smart device. e.g. turn the device on, enter the Wi-Fi details in the app and scan a QR code.
This device only connects on 2.4GHz which isn’t uncommon for IoT devices. It also only connects on Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n). I’ve had this device connected to my Wi-Fi for 2 weeks without any drops at all (I am monitoring the Wi-Fi connection separately so I know it has not dropped).
App is very easy to use (even for my elderly mother) and it will (if you want it to) send you a notification when there is a bird on the feeder or you could just review the stored footage at your leisure.
Footage is stored in the cloud for 30 days or you can save any specific clips to your phone.
Solar panel has been doing it’s job, even in the UK winter weather. The feeder has a decent battery life even without the solar panel so the panel easily keeps the battery topped up without needing to bring the feeder inside to charge it.
Overall I am very happy with it! Would happily buy another one.

Birdfy Bamboo Feeder
I love the look of this bird feeder, it blends seamlessly into the shrubs and holds a lot of seed. The antena being inside the box does reduce the distance from the house I can choose compared to my old Birdfy but the looks make up for that. I now have 2 installed in the garden. I hope they extend the range to include wildlife cameras too

A Great Way To Watch The Natural World
We have recently purchased the bamboo feeder and love it. This feeder is for the front garden and will supplement the original version feeder that’s been in our back garden for a year now.
The entertainment and enjoyment we have had using our Birdfy feeder has been immense and joyful (even if we have had a lot of hungry pigeons).
The bamboo version of the bird feeder however is far more in keeping with our garden and blends nicely with its surrounds when compared to the original plastic version.
The solar P.V. (solar) panel does a really good job and has kept our current camera charged throughout the year so far with no additional charging required by us (we use the sleep mode at night).
The AI recognition has been pretty good, thought sometimes it does get things wrong every now and then. This is no biggy in the grand scheme though.
In addition to the normal use of this bird feeder, we have had immense fun with microphone function mostly used to scare my other half remotely while gardening!!
Would I recommend this product. Definitely!

Excellent Camera too easy for larger birds to hog.
Camera is excellent, connecting to Brdfy site easy and access to recorded clips good. But we found siting the feeder is difficult due to its weight. It needs to fixed to a wall which can limit its appeal to some birds. We mounted it on a pole, that needs to be robust, in order to be able to move it around the garden for the best WiFi reception. the large frontal area allows large birds like Rooks, Crows, Jackdaws etc. to monopolise it. we fitted a clear plastic baffle to reduce to height of the opening and a centre vertical post to eliminate the bigger birds. A squirrel love the open access to we stopped it climbing the pole.

A fantastic gift for anyone who loves nature.
I already own a Birdfy feeder, the earlier plastic edition which is at my workplace. I am a great fan of the product, and was actively considering buying one for our garden. When I saw Birdfy had produced a bamboo version my mind was made up. The build quality is excellent, the wood gives it a very stylish appearance and the separate feed compartments either side of the camera allow you to fill it up with different types of bird feed giving you the opportunity to attract a broader range of birds. The camera is of a very high quality and its wide angle offers terrific viewing angles. Installation is really straightforward and requires only very limited diy skills. I had ours set up within half an hour. It comes with a solar panel but I elected not to install this until the Spring- I already know the camera charges lasts a long time between charges. Where you site the feeder needs to take into account WiFi signal. We have a booster that pushes strong Wifi into the garden, the feeder works most effectively when you have a relatively strong signal. The camera has a built in antenna which also helps Wifi reception. One great feature of the camera is you can scare off squirrels who tend to be a nuisance with all bird feeders. Every time I saw a squirrel on the app’s live feed I shouted into my phone’s microphone- this seems to have done the trick and they now tend to avoid the feeder.
As well as birds, the camera does have peripheral views of our garden and we’ve seen foxes, badgers and hedgehogs at various points
All in all, a great product, robustly made, stylish and a fantastic gift for anyone who is interested in nature.
