Just what we needed for elderly Mother.

Signal strength isn’t great with obstacles – a single skin brick wall was enough to reduce the range to a fraction of what they advertise so we had to place the base station in a weird place to get a signal in a wooden outbuilding that was no problem for the previous Panasonic phone we had. On the plus side it’s been good for an elderly relative because of the big buttons and reasonably simple interface, and the volume boost for hard of hearing makes a big difference.

When answering a call the head piece is not very loud bought for my mum and even with hearing aids in finding it hard to hear without pressing the volume button and the amplifier at the side so yes good phone apart from hearing in the war piece

I bought this phone because of my hearing. The main phone was clear to hear, but the extension had poor quality sound.When someone left a message without their number I firstly could not hear it clearly and secondly could not find the number and the time the message was left in order to ring back because the manual was too difficult to understand how to set things up. It is very disappointing and I have now bought another phone which displays the the date & time the message was left clearly. Unfortunately it is past the return & refund date.

There is one very annoying fault with this phone set and I would not have bought it had I known. The numbers that you store in the phonebook do not work if you store a number from abroad. You store it with a 00 and then the country code eg 353 for Ireland. When it dials those numbers this phone then DROPS the 00! You then get a mis-dial (obviously) and a voice telling you that this number is not recognised.Apart from this it was fine, nice clear buttons, easy enough to set up, good loud ring tone and good for the hard of hearing. So: a great phone so long as you don’t have any friends / family / business connections abroad OR you have a fantastic memory for numbers and can memorise those numbers instead.
