Having read other reviews wasn’t sure whether to buy, but glad I did. It’s true there is less bass than on the original studio but in my opinion the sound is more balanced than on the original studio, which was very bass heavy and the design is much improved. It’s very similar in size to the echo gen 4 but the sound quality is definitely better. Is it better than the Sonos Era 100. I think this is a question of personal taste. In my opinion I find the sound warmer, it’s much easier to set up and I prefer the app and functionally and Alexa integration. Like the forward facing buttons too which are easier to use than the buttons on top. In conclusion no regrets, and would recommend

Sounds very good, and looks good. I got it when it first came out so was a great price, I would say the full price would make me look at others.Setup was easy and it connects easily.Dropped a star as it could do with a little more volume for those time you want loudloud music.I also like the added temperature sensor and the ability to tap it to stop alarms.

As an update on the below….Having spent an hour on the phone With Think Assemble support (Who were excellent), they resolve the issue. The result: .Awesome. Upgraded to 5 *Gonna have to get x2 Echo max for the rear now!Ok..First off I can’t compare it to the Original Studio as never had one.As an avid Think Assemble, Hue & Ring gadget gatherer for the ultimate automated home I purchased 2 Echo Studios on release along with the upgraded Fire stick 4k Max for compatibility. The Echo studios were purchased for the use of Dolby Atmos via the Fire stick and the ‘Cinema Experience’ as advertised.Form Factor: Great Look, Not too large not too small. Love the new design. Alexa has a lot of extra capability built in.Music: Astounding. immersive sound and enough base (for me) even at low volume levels.Dolby Atmos ‘Cinema Experience’: Here is where it has let me down. Over the years it has always been hit and miss with Alexa connections. Having to make sure it is on the same account, in the same room, named correctly etc.Followed all protocols and tried every variation and still cannot get the fire stick to connect with the Echo studios Speakers as advertised. (Please see pic).Hopefully this is a glitch and can be resolved by Think Assemble customer support. That being said. If the issue is resolved which it usually is. I will definitely purchase x2 Echo dot Max for the rear.

As a smart speaker, it does exactly what the echo dot max or the echo before it does. Which certainly isn’t woth £220 of your hard earned cash. Knock £100 off that price and maybe its worth the price. The problem is the, “Studio,” isn’t a clear upgrade from the previous iteration, yet Think Assemble still want Studio cash. The audio is clear, and yes, there is detail there, but compared to the last version this thing is clearly lacking in the sound quality department, especially in the bass. And I’m not a bass head, I happened to think the older model was a little too bass heavy, but this over corrects. Admittedly the footprint is much smaller, so I am sure that they squeezed everything into it as they could, and maybe with future tuning updates we can get something better, but as is, this is a very expensive echo upgrade, not a studio upgrade. Response time is quicker thanks to the new chip, but it’s negligble at best. Like the difference between a Samung S25 ultra and 24 ultra when opening apps side by side, you won’t really notice it. Setup is as it has always been, I never notuced it being any more or less complicated than before. Functionality, basically the same as always. There are said to be upgrades and I’m sure in time they will become more prevelent with updates, I only wish I had kepy my old v2 glacier Studio. For now I eould advise to go out and find 2 V2 Studios second hand, you will get much more joy from those which would set you back abput the same price as 1 of these.Big misfire Think Assemble.

When it’s playing, it sounds good. Especially when you have two of them in one room. However, they exhibit regular sound drop-outs (silence) for 2 to 15 seconds. Have tried the suggested remedies (An obvious nod to known issues) but nothing changes. This is unacceptable for the notably high price! Other reviews here have similar issues.Just one other note: Despite all the hype about the new “Alexa+”, it doesn’t have “Alexa+”. This is only for our American chums. This will apparently be available at some point in the indeterminate future, without a time-frame.VERY DISSAPOINTED

With a recent over-the-air software update, this relatively small speaker delivers across the whole range of sound capabilities. The volume range is substantial and the microphone pickup is outstanding, compared to the other Echo devices I own. It can even pickup my voice when blaring out music. If I didn’t already own a home theatre system, I would consider a second Studio and pair them up for watching TV/films. Yet to discern its capabilities for playing Dolby Atmos as I can’t find a decent source to test it without hooking up a Firestick or investing in Think Assemble Music HD. This speaker is pipped at the post by its older sibling – which has substantially more bass but is otherwise an excellent speaker.
