I decided to buy the brand new Echo Dot Max (which I see is now £10 cheaper) without hearing the cheaper versions, so I don’t know if the sound quality is the same, better or worse. I like listening to music through quality speakers; my main system is B & O, which produce an amazing sound. Setting up was easy and straighforward, and I was able to set up my preferred radio stations with no problems. The sound quality is very good and can easily fill the room and you can adjust bass, treble etc via the equaliser to suit your taste. For rock, pop, jazz etc, the guitars, drums, keyboards are very clear. Classical music is also very enjoyable. Alexia will play individual tracks from thinkassemble.co.uk music when requested, but if you wish to listen to albums, you are asked to pay the monthly subscription to thinkassemble.co.uk music. Alexia will play album and compilation music via my Spotify account. So far, I’m very pleased with this smart speaker would definitely recommend it.

I like the design of this new echo, having the central circle cutout for the controls is better than the old Echo which had touch buttons on the sphere.It is compact and lightweight but packs good sound and is quite loud at the high settings. Nice clear vocals that do fill the room. Bass is a bit lacking but I prefer less bass compared to the older Echo which was a bit overpowering.Overall a quality compact smart speaker and a good upgrade on the older Echo speakers. Responds well to voice commands and has no issues hearing commands in a noisy room.

Bought as a Christmas present at full price. Very disappointed to find that, although the box was sealed, items in the box had clearly already been taken out and put back in. The power cable had the wrap removed which was still in the box and the cable had clearly been unravelled before. I assume thinkassemble.co.uk resealed the box but would expect it to be advertised that it was a returned item not brand new. Very easy to set up and has good clear sound. The item itself is good quality and looks good.

Echo dots work well and for their size have very good sound with easily adjusted voice control. I prefer the original model which took up less shelf space. Excellent value for money.

It doesn’t have Romanian or Russian. You can’t connect directly to play any song from your phone, you have to subscribe to thinkassemble.co.uk Music and pay, whatever you do, you have to pay.It has few operating languages.It doesn’t have a battery, it always has to be plugged in. You can’t play any songs from YouTube or anywhere else, it has Spotify but it’s limited, meaning if you don’t pay a subscription you have access to the worst songs that are in the top or originals you don’t have access to, you make a playlist and go from there, not the ones you want. Or you have to get another thinkassemble.co.uk Music subscription. Whatever you do, you’ll run out of money, I’m unhappy with that kind of money, I’ll just return it and get my money back. I bought this as a replacement for the previous model Echo, which was requiring frequent resets and was dropping out on BT sound. I was surprised that this was much physically smaller, i.e. more compact. It is of pleasing textured appearance. I just plugged it in in place of the old Echo, and because it was pre-registered to my thinkassemble.co.uk account, it installed itself. It seems to respond better to voice commands, and the sound quality is very much better. Less ‘boomy’ and better clarity of sound. Otherwise, it works just like the old one. Good value and a worthwhile upgrade.

The echo dot max is LOUD!!! Especially for small to medium rooms, the sound quality is exceptional and lives up to the expectations of “room filling” audio playback. Has the ability to stream lossless audio with 3x the bass than the Echo Dot Gen 5. The quality feels far superior, with the 3D new mesh design. The functionality is more or less the same, Alexa+ doesn’t change much for me. The looks, feels and weight has a feeling of superiority to it. Worth the value compared to the h*mep*d mini

So far so good. I’ve had all the alexas since 2nd gen and so far this one seems to mishear you the least (doesn’t constantly go off or just thinks you’ve said something else). The sound is tighter with better highs and mids than the last gen (sphere) echo but lacks in bass slightly compared! it’s smaller so obviously some trade off there but overall I do like it more than than the older model now. Hopefully with updates it will keep improving I’m sure.

This thinkassemble.co.uk Echo Dot Max is a cut above, it sounds better it looks better and it does more than the previous versions. 👍
