Robust, with good sound, easy to use. However, nowhere in the supplied instructions is there mention of a speaker phone facility. Googling amongst other documents revealed that this is activated by a second press of the start call button once the call is connected.

What a pleasant surprise these handsets were. So easy to set up. Put the batteries in and they knew what handset number they were. They work absolutely perfect with the new ‘Digital Voice’ adapter and their range is incredible. From the house to my studio which is at least 100 feet away. Nice clear sound when talking on it’s intercom and outside line. Separate dial tones for outside call and internal intercom. I am well chuffed with the result. The only little bug, is there is no separate ring volume for the intercom, which would have been nice as it could do with going down a couple of notches, but hey, they are fantastic.

My other house phone suddenly died and there was no fixing it. So I had to get a new one. Our house is in an area where we get no mobile signal, so the house phone is essential. I looked at a few but this one caught my eye as it was cheap and it had good reviews.It arrived quickly and well packaged. It was easy to get set up and we have had no trouble at all with it. The ring tone is a bit loud and it is unusual sounding so it makes us jump when it rings, but know we will get used to it. The only difficult thing, for me, is that it has no answering machine to blink if you have a message, you must remember to call 1571to collect any messages. You are aware of a message only when you go to make a call as the dial tone changes to something similar to an engaged signal. You can still make the call without having to check the message but I struggle to remember to listen to the dial tone when I get back to check if I have any messages. But that is something I will eventually get used to or will just buy an old school answering machine.I do like the phone though, it is comfortable to use and the caller ID is so useful for avoiding cold callers. The speaker phone option to the phone is fantastic! You do not need to be overly close for folks on the other end to hear everyone clearly. Our other phone you could not do that. So it made our holiday calls last month so much easier. I would certainly recommend this phone for anyone needing a house phone and especially for the elderly who are slightly hard of hearing, as the volume can go up extremely loud if necessary. We don’t need to have it up high but it is a feature to be aware of as it can be a problem with other phones.
