Poor quality paint job
Whilst trying to fit these connectors to the radiator I noticed the paint breaking off the compression nut, no matter what tool or precaution I took (wrapping material around the nut, then trying to tighten) the paint continued to break off. I would suggest a small pot of the paint may help to disguise this after tightening

In a world of TRVs buying a conventional valve seems a bit insane but these valves are absolutely amazing and you truly have to touch and try them to understand what I mean. They feel absolutely solid and a truly high end product despite the price. Keep in mind that thinkassemble.co.uk’s price is easily £50 lower than the 2nd best. The operation is smooth and the finish is impeccable.
If you have a heat pump or a boiler with more than basic weather compensation, you could easily skip TRVs and just stick with these. That said do be warned that since these are not TRVs, your EPC might be negatively impacted if you put them on radiators. Bathroom rails should be fine as you need some background heat.
