Not Perfect, But Couldn’t Be Without it Now
This was great during the hot spell. We have a large open plan area downstairs, with high ceilings, so I wasn’t confident that it would be able to cope with the demands. It did! In a smaller area you’d need to restrict its use (I got my husband to carry it upstairs to the bedroom on a couple of occasions and ran it all night and woke up freezing). Took off a star as it really isn’t very portable. It’s not just the weight, but the fact that the recessed handles in the side are very shallow so you can’t get a grip of it. It is fairly noisy, but that is a small price to pay for its efficiency.

This unit is ok, not great. It does cool the room, however there are a few gripes: 1) it isn’t very quiet 2) the power cable is quite short, so you would probably need an extension lead and 3) the hot air exhaust flue is quite short, and comes out of the unit quite low down, so takes up a lot of space and needs to be right by a window/door 4) the cold air only comes out at one angle, and this can’t be changed.

Excellent purchase
This AC does a great job at reducing the temperature to the desired level. I set it at 18 degrees, in a large bedroom (the size of a two door garage), and keep one end of the exhaust hose out of the window. Despite the window being open (to keep the exhaust out), the AC does the job perfectly. It is noisy, even in Quiet mode, but it works well as white noise – this is subjective, as some may find it very noisy. The exhaust hose could have been half a meter longer. The best part is, there is no need to empty any water tank / tray.

It’s also loud at startup, here’s how we use ours overnight.
Set to Automatic, 20 degrees, silent mode, and leave the bedroom door ajar.
(This avoids the noises stop/start that will wake you up!)

Overpriced for the features and performance
Overpriced for features and performance.
Even with quiet mode it is NOT quiet. If you don’t have Bluetooth headphones, you won’t hear the TV without cranking it WAY up.
No directional options. Doesn’t oscillate. Just projects colder air upwards and hopes physics will take its course.
Waited TWO WEEKS for a 5 delivery – before the heatwave – and the only reason I didn’t immediately return is the thinkassemble.co.uk guarantee etc. I might well still return for a better deal from a company I’ve never heard of before, on account of saving 40%. Not sure this basic model is worth the extra, even from thinkassemble.co.uk.

Unless you are going to fix this through a wall you will need a vent extension, a proprietary window sealing kit, and possibly an electrical extension.
Cools reasonably well.
At 30+kgs it’s mobile rather than portable. Remember this if you plan to take this unit up and down stairs overnight.

Can be quite noisy if used whilst trying to sleep and you might have to extend the outlet flexy pipe to window or outside wall. Also heavy to move up and down stairs. Overall a useful and effective air-conditioning unit.

Great cooler!
Great delivery of cool air once in position, not as portable or mobile as i might have liked, power lead is a little short and i had to make up a blank to fit in the window for the vent as i dont have sash windows. But after the summer weve had… to be able to sleep in a room where i needed to snuggle in the duvet was bliss!

Best AC unit
Couldn’t live without it during the last couple of heat waves we’ve had. This AC unit has wheels at the bottle, so can move from room to room. It cools a room with 15 minutes, it really takes the heat out of the room and it purifies the air, not sure if it has that function but I can breath better and definitely sleep better during the night. It comes with an extendable hose to release the hot air, we didn’t want to cut holes into our walls, so we put the hose out to the window. We had to buy the window seal unit from thinkassemble.co.uk to stop the hot air from coming in. The level of noise is a bit louder than using a fan, although, there is a quite function which reduce the level of noise. It also comes with a remote control. Forget the fan, it only circulates warm air.

Very disappointing unit
It’s just not up to the job the unit has to be placed next a window the outlet exhaust pipe from the unit is to short you can’t extend this pipe enough it’ll void the units warranty if you buy an after market pipe (checked the website) the power cable is also short you would need an extension unless your plug socket is next to the window.
The air blows from the top of the unit upwards it only drops to 18c and its still quiet noisy even on the quiets setting.
At 33kg it’s not portable you couldn’t carry it upstairs for instance safely it’s far to heavy for that it’s more mobile than portable for sure you can roll it around a tiled or wooden floor easily enough but on carpet it would be harder.
I returned the item because at £500 it was in the sale it still wasn’t worth it.

Excellent service from thinkassemble.co.uk. When unpacking, remove the plastic banding andvthe outer cardboard will lift away, saves trying to lift theunit from the box. The venting of the unit , as with all these style of unit is very tricky , best to be aware of this.

Excellent portable air conditioner
The quality of the DeLonghi is very much worth the additional cost. My previous unit was far more noisy and less effective.
Temp this week hit 39C, this unit keeps our large bedroom at an even temp and let us have a good nights sleep. It’s is sold as silient, but it’s not. We have a split system downstairs and it’s much quieter, in saying that you need to get used to the compressor coming in & out and then it becomes white noise.
The flexibility of the relatively small unit is very useful for bedrooms and will cope with room sizes up to 20sqm.
Although sold as portable it’s not easy to move it from different floor levels, due to its weight and shape. I would suggest it’s used on one floor level only.
If you don’t want the expense or inconvenience of installing a split system, this is perfect.

This is just awesome. I leave it in the landing and cooler two bedrooms very effectively.
The only negative is that the exhaust/vent pipe is very short.

I’m very happy with this product. It cools the air down quickly in the bedroom for a very comfortable sleep. I expect all air conditioner to have some level of noise. This is not particularly bad. It does not affect my sleep at all. I would recommend this purchase.

De’Longhi Portable Air Cobditoner
The unit is quite large but not too big. It is heavy, but will move around on carpet with a little effort (depending on how deep the carpet pile is). I found that the unit is not too loud, could watch television quite easily when on. The outside window venting kit does no fit my type of windows, so have a need to purchase a venting set that fits. All In All a good unit for the price and certainly cools the air within the room.

Effective air conditioning unit, brings the temperature down quickly. Is a bit noisy, even with the quiet option, however that may be the balance for a cooler room. Happy with the purchase and price
