The Tapo C425 has really impressed me so far. Setup was straightforward and the app makes it very simple to manage. The video quality is excellent – crisp and clear during the day, and the night vision is surprisingly sharp too.The battery life is strong and easily lasts weeks between charges, which makes it very convenient. I like that it’s completely wireless, so I could place it exactly where I wanted without worrying about cables. Motion detection works well, with alerts coming through quickly on my phone.Overall, it feels solid, reliable, and very user-friendly. For the price, I think it offers excellent value and peace of mind. I’ll likely be adding a second one soon to cover another area.

Good enough quality. App is fantastic. You can set to times of day and detection areas and things. Easy to install. Battery lasts ages. Magnetic. Just brilliant and for the price I’ll probably buy another. They are great. Gus at currys themselves use this brand at home and put me onto them.

Easy to set up and decent wireless capability as in my back garden and signal good to router. Captures motion and person movement all the time so accurate with the image capturing. Added this to 3 other Tapo devices around the house and all work really well storing data to small hub which I bought with the front doorbell. No subscription for any and have over 4 months of data stored with loads more space before it auto over writes. 👍

This is honest review after week of testing the camera and its multiple options. I am technically knowledgeable and familiar with electronic devices.I have been experiencing repeated issues with incomplete event recordings. All detection-related settings are configured to their maximum values:Motion Detection: 10Person Detection: 10Camera Sensitivity / Alert Sensitivity: 10Maximum clip length: 60 secondsRetrigger Time: 0 secondsThe camera is installed in my private yard and monitors my parking area. The distance to my vehicle is about 4 meters.When I approach my car and get inside, the camera correctly detects the person and starts recording. The recording lasts approximately 15 seconds and then stops when I am inside the vehicle and no further motion is detected. However, when I start the car and drive away about 10 seconds later, the camera does not start a new recording.Many times different situations occurred for example involving a courier delivery. The recorded clip starts with a vehicle already parked in the monitored area. The recording does not include:the vehicle arriving and parkingthe courier exiting the vehicle and carrying a large package toward my door. The clip only shows the vehicle driving away, while all earlier and clearly visible activity is missing.I have observed that the camera’s recording behaviour appears inconsistent and unpredictable. In some cases, recording is triggered when a person/moving vehicle is far away, while in other cases, a person/moving vehicle standing very close to the camera does not trigger any recording at all. Overall, the motion detection and recording behavior appears inconsistent and does not reliably capture relevant events.Based on my experience, I would not recommend this camera to anyone seeking reliable protection against burglary or vehicle theft, or to anyone who expects consistent monitoring of what happens in the covered area, as the camera frequently fails to record critical event!

Favorite outdoor camera yet. Clear view and colors even at night. Previously had a Wyze cam v2 and v3…. this particular one is so much better with better AI tracking in my opinion.Pros:Small, easy to install, no hidden fee, optional cloud function, USB C powered, and communicates well with other Tapo and Kasa products (lights, switches, etc)Cons:Not really good at looking through a window at night, mainly because of interior light reflections, need a power source outside because running a cable though my window all winter was a bad idea
